Your favorite gun thread, brought to you by According to Pliny...

So, what’s your favorite gun(s)? The one(s) that you really, really want?

I want a .500 Magnum revolver, a .50 AE Desert Eagle, a Serbu Super Shorty, a SIGSAUER P239, a SIG P210, a Glock 18, and a pre-ban AK-47. Why? No particular reason, just because I want to shoot some really cool weapons. That, and I’m a “gun nut” and I want to force anti-gun people to read these threads and comment in them even though they don’t have anything to do with gun rights.

So, do tell, gun fans.

I want an H&K MP5 select fire, and a Russian AK-47.

I get all tingly just thinking about it.

Darn. I’ve got to go to the gun store sometime soon, because I haven’t felt weapon lust since purchasing my Taurus .44 mag. I just don’t have a particular weapon that I’m itching to buy at present. :frowning: Sorry.

I want a Bushmaster AR clone and a .45-70 Derringer and a S&W 5" .357 and a Calico .22 and a.454 Cassul (or other some monster handgun).

Unclviny

I like my Enfield No 1. I severely want a Brown Bess musket replica.

I’ve been drooling over the new S&W 386PD Airlite .357. Sweet. Light as a feather.

I don’t care, as long as it’s black and looks really scary.

But really, I’ve been wanting to try the Sig 226 in .357 Sig.

I’ve always thought that it’d be fun to have a SPAS 15.
Kinda overkill for clay pigeons, but still, it’d be fun to shoot.

And while I’m at it, the HK CAWS shown here looks like it’d be a blast (no pun intended) to use.

I’d be especially interested to see the shot grouping of fleschettes on a target.

I would love to have a Chinese SKS, as well as the Chinese AK-47 as well.

I forgot to mention the Steyr AUG and the Tavor. I loves me some bullpups. I’d also like to fire an Uzi just once in my life for the novelty of it.

I have a pre-ban Bushmaster AR-15 clone that I built. When the second ban was passed in California, I had a bit of a hard time registering it. See, they banned the Bushmaster Arm Pistol and when the DoJ saw “Bushmaster” they assumed that I was talking about the Arm Pistol and not an AR-15 clone. They sent me a letter saying that the registration period had passed (the Arm Pistol was on the first ban) I had to surrender my rifle or remove it from the state. I wrote them a letter back explaining that they denied registration because they didn’t bother to go past the manufacturer’s name to look at the model (XM-15). They approved registration, and I have a letter in my documents notebook.

Originally I had a Colt upper receiver and heavy barrel assembly; but the alignment key on the barrel I bought at a gun show had been sheared and I couldn’t adjust the sights enough to compensate for it. Easy thing to fix, but I went ahead and got an A2 upper assembly with a 1:8 twist heavy barrel. It’s been years, but I still haven’t gotten round to firing the new barrel.

I also have a CAR-15 I built pre-ban, and which is also registered in California.

But my favourite is in retirement. Okay, I haven’t shot a rifle in donkey’s years; but I ‘retired’ it even when I was still shooting. It’s a 1979 Colt AR-15 Sporter in the original configuration (triangular handguard, original length – shorter than current – buttstock, no forward-assist plunger). Colt stopped making the ‘AR-15’ after the first California ban. (They made the same rifle, but it was no longer caled an AR-15.) I figure the '79 AR-15 is mildly collectible now.

A friend of mine wants to buy my unfired SAR-8. (I bought it just before Clinton signed the AWB.)

I’d like one of those S&W 686 357s with 7 shots (can’t recall the model number), a HK G3 rifle (well, civilian semi-auto anyway) and some variety of 45 automatic- HK USP or M1911A1 are my chief contenders at the moment.

An AK or SKS might be nice… an AR-15 of some stripe would be sweet, and I’d absolutely love to have a pair of old-school 1810 Horatio Hornblower style naval flintlock pistols.

A little too old-school for me; but I really enjoy shooting my Uberti 1851 Colt Navies. Pretty accurate, cheap to shoot, and gobs of smoke.

I love my 1911, especially because it’s slender and rides well in an IWB holster. And it’s cheap to shoot, too, so it doesn’t hurt the wallet to send a few hundred rounds through it at the range.

1911s are easy to trick out, too: I’ve done some tweaking on the trigger pull, and shaved the ramp for smoother loading. Parts are available all over the place. You really can’t go wrong with one of them.

Do you have spare cylinders for them? I have to admit I never thought of keeping spare cylinders until I saw Clint Eastwood using them in one of his Man With No Name movies, but it makes shooting black powder even more fun.

My wife hates the stink when I’m cleaning 'em, though.

I want a P90. Yes, I do. I want to shoot one all day.

And a .50 Barett.

And one of those AR-15 .499s.

And, uhm… Okay, I’ll take a Calico .22 for popping things with.

No, no extra cylinders. Unlike the Remington 1858, the Colts require removal of the barrel to change the cylinder. I just make combustible cartridges.

Cool idea. I’ll have to give that a try.

I want my recently bought H&R .410 Tamer (Snake Charmer) to come back from the factory fixed right.

I have enough guns, I want unlimited ammo …
