Maths question: How many cubic feet do these measurements give?

28x22x10 inches equates to what in terms of cubic feet?

It’s 6160 cubic inches, which would be 3.5648148148148148148148148148148148 cubic feet.

Not a complete answer to your problem, but the following application would be useful for this (and pretty much all) math requiring conversion between measurements be it length, velocity, mass, force, and so on. I highly recommend it.
The only thing I’ve ever found it missing was the PS measurement for engine power (though you can add this manually.)

Convert

In case you want to work it out yourself, just multiply the three numbers and divide by 12x12x12 since there are 12 inches in a foot. The answer has already by posted.

Thank you, guys! One more question, 0.1 cubic meter equals how many cubic feet? (We ahev a problem with some measurements in regulations for customers.)

roger thornhill, this unit converter might help you.

Found the answer at ‘convert.com’. Agreed with my calculator, which is pleasing. Excellent site. Thanks again for the recommendation.

I just remember that 25.4mm = 1 inch and work it out from there.

Those converters previously mentioned are quite good.
However, if I might offer my own website, you could try
http://www.1728.com/convvol.htm
which is specifically for volume conversions or
http://www.1728.com/convert.htm
which has 5 types of conversions (length, area, volume, mass and time) all in one calculator.

As good as those other websites are, my converters do not require you to go through all that “from” and “to” folderol. Please give my website a visit and you’ll see what I mean.

Incidentally, to help you with your first conversion, the number of cubic inches in a cubic foot is 1728. Hmmm, that number seems vaguely familiar. Where have I seen that number before?

Is it 13,383,816 cubic feet?

[crickets chriping]

No?

Cynical Gabe
I don’t get the significance of 13,383,816 cubic feet. Perhaps everyone else did and that’s why the crickets are chirping. Please explain because I’d hate to miss out on a good math joke.

You can also enter “28 inches x 22 inches x 10 inches in cubic feet” in google and get the answer. (3.56481481)

Or: 1 meter = 39.36 inches, just to keep the round units on the side I prefer.

Searching for “28x22x10 cubic inches in cubic feet” on google also gives the correct answer.

Google knows everything.

It is an (incorrect) reference to this thread.

Thanks Pedro.

I just had to know.

Perhaps 13,383,816 will be another “in-joke” in the ‘Hi Opal’ ‘1920’s Style Death Rays’ tradition?

Let’s hope not!

It was originally 13,983,816, but who’s counting…
