Name an article of clothing that starts with "I".

A brain teaser of sorts that I'm working on asks this question, and I simply can't come up with anything. It has to be an article of clothing, not a style (intimates).

I would appreciate any assistance.

Inverness cape.

(Checked this book -- really? You don't have one on your desk? -- and that was the only "I" entry in 8 three-column pages on clothing.)

I suspect in-soles and in-socks won't count. Good question, i've searched a couple of fashion glossaries and the I's are definitely lacking.

You're welcome! Word Menu is a great resource for anyone who works with words. (It's one of the few books I kept at work after being moved to a cubicle [boo hoo] -- I still haven't sorted out the two cases' worth I moved home.

Word Menu?

Why am I reminded of a Scene in Monty Python's "Meaning of Life" ? Horribly Paraphrased here:

SPOILER:

"Here are your conversation menus."
"Conversation Menus?"
"Yes, these are some suggested topics you might wish to converse with your partner"
"Very well, Two for Phillosphy then.."
"Ok, two for Phillosphy, right away!"
"Well how do we get started?"
"Ask questions, Like why are we here?"

BTW, isn't an iPod an article of clothing now?

I always thought that ihram was a ritual that required specific clothing, but was not aware that it actually referred to the dress itself.

Thanks RM!

My Webster's New World states

ih-ram 1. a costume worn by Muslim pilgrims to Mecca, consisting of one piece of white cotton arround the waiste and hips and another over the shoulder 2. the restrictions and rules that must be observed by a pilgrim so dressed.

What about the ionar? Irish Medieval jacket/vest.

Quote:
Ionar
A small jacket, usually worn more loose than a doublet, the Ionar is a traditional Irish garment. The version shown in most woodcuts shows the ionar coming down to the ribs with a “peplum” around the bottom.
More info about ionar.
