Substitute teaching permit?
I was interested in being a substitute teacher in the Fall, and I was looking at online applications. They mentioned having a 'sub permit', something I do not have, nor do I know how to get one. All the websites I saw that have information about it haven't been very useful for my situation.
They state that unless you have a degree in education, you have to get a substitute permit. I am kind of confused here- I thought passing the CBEST and having a BA was all that was required. What am I missing here? |

You might want to call the district's main admin offices. It sounds like it's the paperwork you have to fill out for the district and a lot of government stuff like fingerprint checks. Get the fingerprinting done ASAP, they can take forever. Or be done in a week. Either way, I don't know of any district that'll let you anywhere near the kids without them.

What Ashes said. You have to get fingerprinted, there is a Megan's Law background check, and such like that.
