I lit a candle underwater!

I have this scented candle in a wide candle holder…essentially a thick drinking glass/tumbler…which had almost completely burned down, and I wanted to clean out the dregs before I put a fresh one in. Instead of chipping out the wax with a knife, I placed the holder in a bowl of water and placed that in the microwave; the idea is the wax would melt and float to the top of the water, leaving a clean glass behind.

A few seconds after, the burned-out wick began to bubble, and the bubble-enclosed wick shone brightly.

FIRE…UNDER…WATER!

My wife would like a word with you. Something about not giving her husband ideas that could cause kitchen fires…

One reply?

ONE…REPLY?!?
I BEND THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE ON ITS EAR AND I GET ONE STINKIN’ REPLY?!?!?

:frowning:  :frowning:

Maybe you would get more replies if you could do something REALLY incredible, likethread a needle, underwater.

But really, sometimes you have to be happy with what you have, such as only a few posts, or the ability to light fires, underwater.

I stumbled across this old Wonder Woman comic a couple of days ago (It’s from 1957, and the drawings are appallingly bad – I could do better) and had to show that panel to Pepper Mill.

The microwave thing is really cool, though. I’ll have to try it.

Maybe this could be Enola’s useless Super Power.
