The More You Know . . .

I just saw one of those "The more you know" PSAs on NBC:
Quote:
5' 9" is not short. Neither is 5' 8-3/4". Check your almanac.
And a bit before that I saw this one:
Quote:
Keep your wedding invitation. Don't call the bride three weeks before the wedding for directions. They're on the invitation.
WTF? If I heard these here, I'd think that I was being whooshed. But I highly doubt NBC is whooshing America. So what gives?

Are you sure it wasn't one of those Conan O'Brien parodies?

Pretty sure. This was around 8 pm. And they didn't seem very funny.

The one I just saw ended up being a commercial for "The Office".

Strike that. It's a joke. I just saw one with one of the guys from The Office discussing being malued by black bears versus brown bears. I've been whooshed: NBC 1, me 0.

But you've thoroughly amused a stranger on a message board today, so it's all good!

I just saw one for dealing with bears.

Did the earlier ones feature one of the cast from The Office? If so, I'm guessing they're actually promos rather than the actual PSA's, and we didn't notice the subtle differences.

They also had one where the Indian chick from The Office discussed how cool office romances were, and how they could even lead to marriage, coupled with the intern (man, I need to learn these characters' names) talking about avoiding commitments and keeping relationships at an arm's length.

They're April Fools Day PSAs.

$9 is way too much to pay for a beer. Just walk away.
