The title pretty much says it all. First he commits homicide, then he lies to me and my staff every day about his glucometer readings. Says its 103 when it’s 303, 158 when it’s 258, 97 when it’s 297, and so forth.
So much for the honor system of reporting your results to the nurses!
Does he gain anything from this behavior other than annoying you and the rest of the medical staff? Not having any experience with measuring blood sugar levels I have no idea why somebody would lie about it. Wouldn’t a normal person want the correct levels recorded so that the correct treatment could be administered? I suppose being a homicidal killer doesn’t exactly make him normal though.
If he doesn’t let anyone know his diabetes isn’t out of control, we can’t pressure him to make responsible changes about what he eats, how often he has to come to check his blood sugar, or how he should really watch his weight and exercise more.
That’s my guess, anyway.
As for other types of killers than homicidal, well. What about the guy that killed all those penguins? That wasn’t homicide now, was it? And at least he doesn’t lie to me about his blood sugars.
**QtM[/b, is it possible he’s having trouble reading the first digit with whatever tool he’s using to monitor? In the examples you gave, the second two digits were accurate, but the first wasn’t. I mean, isn’t it possible he’s an idiot rather than a jerk, if you follow me?
Nope. He’s always got the 2nd and 3rd digits just fine. And never makes an error which increases the reading rather than decreases it. And his vision checks out just fine per our optometrist.
Say, Oy!. I’ve got this bridge I’d love to sell! Interested?
