Word CHALLENGE

Okay, we haven't being playing enthusiastically lately guys, so here's what I propose. I'll come up with a word of the day for Friday (or Saturday for Australian players). Your job is to to try to use it casually in your posts.

Maybe once, maybe twice, maybe more. Perhaps the best post gets to choose the next word.

Let's start off with an easy one (though I've got a few that will provide more of a challenge if this takes off:

the word of the day for Friday Sep8,00 is PANDER.

Pander (PAN-duhr) verb intr.

1. To act as a go-between or liaison in sexual intrigues; function as a procurer.

2. To cater to the lower tastes and desires of others or exploit their weaknesses.

Though it DOES remind me of a joke...

A prostitute - orginally from the red light district in Amsterdam coincidentally - is surprised to have a panda soliciting her for her services. He takes her out to

She's surprised but remains a professional and on his insistence they have dinner together first before retiring where she 'entertains' her newfriend and to her surprise he's VERY, VERY good. Several times.

After the fourth time, he gets up and goes to leave. She stops him indiginantly and asks for payment. He looks at her blankly and then gets the dictionary and points to the definition.

Panda: A bear that eats roots and leaves.


Of course to get the joke you have to know what 'root' means in Australia (and originally it was a koala) but hey...
