Anyone else think Jude Law has a Tony Curtis quality about him?
I'm for some time been pretty familiar with Tony Curtis' work, I'm also quite familiar with Jude Law's work. Never thought to compare them before.
However, just the other night I saw Sweet Smell of Success for the very first time. As I watched Tony Curtis, I kept being struck by the feeling that not only could you successfully cast Jude Law in that role, but that I could imagine his performance being almost exactly the same as Tony Curtis' performance: both the character choices and interpretation as well as things like mannerisms, speech patterns, reactions, facial expressions. Of course this is all speculation, but speculation based on Jude Law's existing work. Can anyone else see this? Dopers familiar with Sweet Smell of Success or does anyone see it in any other Tony Curtis movies? |

You might have something here. When their faces are still, both of them have the same expectant, open look.
I don't need a reason to watch either of them, but I'll be looking for other similarities now. |

Now that you mention it, Jude Law would make a superb Great Leslie.

Maybe, but Jude's not a homophobe like Curtis (who refused to watch Brokeback Mountain last year).
I wouldn't mind seeing Law in a remake of Houdini. |
