Crayon Shin-Chan, new on Adult Swim.

Howdy hoo Doperoos,

Lately I've been watching the newest addition to Adult Swim, the anime Crayon Shin-Chan. They took out the crayon part of the title though for the English release. Either that or I'm confused.

Anyhow, I'm liking it a lot. It seems like a kid's show at first but the comedy is surprisingly adult. It does have a heavy Plautine element to it, but personally I like a little vulgarity in my humor. Action Bastard to the rescue!

So, I was wondering what everyone else here thinks about it? Yay, nay, dont care? Let's talk about the show

Ass dance, ass dance, aassss daaaannnce, ass dance!

You know what's really funny? On the Spanish cartoon network they've had that for a while now. For some weird reason there's a connection between Japan and Spain that you wouldn't understand. Moreso than any kind of American/Japanese connection.

Yeah I like Shin-Chan though, but I've read that the American version is kind of sanitized. Another good one would be Bo Bo Bo in Spanish. That is particularly awesome, but I don't like the American overdub.

Shin-Chan is the wallpaper on my phone.

Crayon Shin-can is hilarious. It was subtitled and playing on Hawaiian TV about 15 years ago. I learned a few choice Japanese phrases that way.

The animation is crap and I find it overall annoying, but I still watch it.

I am entitled one bump, so here goes nothing. Surely more people have seen this show and have an opinion?

I watched my first episode tonight on Cartoon Swim. "I'll give it a shot!" Wow. I'll probably continue to watch it, at least for a little bit. I'm not hooked, but definitely intrigued.

I saw it a while back before they took it off the air. I suppose they must have put it back on. I think the show is ok, crudely drawn, a bit boorish, and a little annoying. It does however, beat the hell out of 90% of the tv shows out there, so I'm not complaining.

Love the closing theme though!

I watched it a long, long time ago and never really got into it. The whole 'misbehaving kid' genre never really interested me, plus my Japanese wasn't good enough to get all the slang he uses.
