I saw Hairspray today. I hated it. I hate musicals. I could start a Pit thread about the sheer crappiness of musicals. But that is not what this thread is about. This thread is about the racist policeman in the movie. The one that the main charachter person bludgeons on the head Well, that policeman has the same name as me. On the newscast it says talks about the racist policeman, Sgt or some other Mike Morris. I was with a group of friends, and they all looked at me. Wow. Can a mod put the spoiler box where the words spoiler are now? I forgot how to do spoilers. :smack:
Not a problem, coding fixed. To do spoilers:
[ spoiler]stuff ya wanna hide[/spoiler] (be sure to remove that extra space in the opening tag)
You accidentally put the slash at the end of the closing tag, like this: [spoiler/]
Also, I’ll move this to Cafe Society.
Why go to a musical if you hate musicals?
A woman would be my guess.
I saw the musical on Broadway and I don;t remember a character called “Captain Socks.”
So let’s see if I understand the OP: You hate musicals, but you went to one anyway. One of the characters has the same name as you, and your friends looked at you.
Yeah, life’s a bitch.
Probably because you got bludgeoned on the head.
My real name. And panache45, I just wanted to share this because the coincidence is… kind of weird. Sort of.
And then we all had a good laugh about it afterwards.
Now you know how Homer Simpson felt when his TV namesake went from suave to stupid.
Uh-oh, SpaghettiOs!
I had a similar experience during the South Park movie, when Kyle’s mom revealed the name of her anti-Canadian organization.
In The Cider House Rules, Delroy Lindo’s character has the same name as my grandfather.
