Basically, Thai police who misbehave (what counts as behaviour deserving of this I don't know) are punished by being forced to wear a hot pink armband over their uniforms with a Hello Kitty emblem on it.

What crime is god-awful enough to justify punishment that involves the world's most pointless and nauseating cartoon character being forceably attached to one's tough guy uniform?

I would just LOVE to understand all the subtle cultural issues behind this...
