When will we know?

Not sure where to go with this question..I'll try GD.

Most polls show the presidential race to be quite close (today, Oct 31)....Several key states are on the west coast (California, Oregon, Washington). California used to be considered a lock for Gore, now Bush claims he will get the state. Furthermore, Oregon is piloting a mail in vote for the first time. Oregon will not even open ANY votes until 8pm PST..and then start the tabulation.

Although any fool can predict an outcome by exit polling, I think the validity of polling in general, especially exit polling can be a bit suspect.


1) What would define a credible vote call for you? Would a TV network calling the election be persuasive enough for you?

2) When do you think the earliest credible call will be?

3) When do you think either major party candidate will actually concede to the other?

4) When will we know the house and senate split? Most pundits still say the house is up for grabs, while the Senate, once thought to be a lock for Repubs, has an outside chance (according to NPR anyway) of going Dem.. There are a few unusual scenarios as well...Joe Lieberman is still on the ticket for Conn. Senator..Mel Carnahan is in the lead in Missouri ..even though dead..

When any 3 out of NBC, ABC, CNN, Fox, or CBS call it the same way, with no dissenters, I will know the night is over.

11:00 est Gore will break down in tears and concede the race. We will have to wait until morning to see if Nader hit his 5%. (ok, maybe no tears, but I can dream can't I?)

I think the House and Senate will stay Republican. Lieberman will win, and Carnahan will lose.

Anybody have any predictions on Hillary Vs. Lazio?

I have been thinking about this. I regret my times and I would like to adjust them.

2)....Change it to 9:30.

3)....Change it to 10:30.



I would like to add that I think we will see exit polls released all over the net, and this will be what they blame for Bush taking the West Coast.
