Well, we could come up with, I dunno, maybe a game to name the forum.

Just here to express my glee over finally having a home for sports. I think I'll wait until next Thursday to start the "First Annual Los Angeles Dodgers March To The World Series" thread.

These days, I generally just click on SDMB-UCP to check my subscribed threads. Then I click on "New Posts" to see what people are talking about. This new forum isn't going to affect what I see, unless I go back to checking each forum separately, which I only do occasionally in CS. I guess this will clean up CS a bit, although I didn't mind seeing game and sports threads there.

You might have second thoughts when folks start pronouncing TGR "tugger".

Seriously, as one who both enjoys participating in game threads and gets sick of certain posters' attempts to crap in same, I applaud this new "room". It'll generally replace MPSIMS as the first forum I visit whenever I log into the SDMB.

Which is only appropriate, considering the wankers who will be posting here!

(A quick check shows that 10 of my last 15 posts have been here. I rest my case.)

I have no idea what you just said but if this is what the game forum is all about, I'm kinda glad you got your own forum. No offense, but seriously. Is there some weird game-forum speak?

Looks nice. I like what you've done with the place. If you could figure out a way to serve drinks in here, it'd be friggin' perfect.

No it's just excitement-induced turrets.

You grow turrets when you get excited? OK, but what does that have to do with throwing random words around?

Perhaps now would be a good time for a policy regarding format wars, before they start crapping over every thread five posts in.

Just sayin'.

That's one of the things I was thinking of regarding the threadshitting rule. It's basically being a jerk - we don't need a special rule for console wars.

I like this place. The only suggestion I can think of is something like a walkthrough subforum for game walkthroughs and "let's play" type threads with [img] tags on (just that forum, to make walkthroughs 40 times easier). And if RP gets too popular here a shard forum like "the Storyteller's Hall" may be appropriate, though i don't see enough yet to warrant that one.

Especially because deep down inside we all know that Nintendo has already won.

They were there at (near) the beginning, and they'll be there at the bitter end.

So, any truth to the rumours that the real impetus behind this forum is to prevent an active(and I use that term lightly) Mafia game from ever slipping to page 3 again?
