Amtrak question

I know that this is true for another inter-city train I've rode before, but can you buy Amtrak tickets on the train? I ask because I'm taking the train next week, and amtrak.com wants 15 bucks to ship me the 10 dollar tickets. There are exactly two trains per day that pass through the station that I know of, so I don't really want to try to go down there and buy tickets at the station, but I don't want to pay 15 bucks to get them shipped either. Seems like I could just bring a ten dollar bill with me and be OK.

If you have a credit card, you can buy the ticket online and pick it up at one of the kiosks at the station. Is that an option?

You can buy them on the train, but it's more expensive. They do accept credit cards on the train, but if you can pick the tickets up at the kiosk, that's your best bet.

I believe you can pay for them on a credit card and pick them up on the train. Call 1-800-872-7245 and ask.

So you have to go to the station to catch the train, and I don't see where you say you will be in a terrific hurry and not have time to buy a ticket. Why can't you buy your ticket at the station when you get there?

Win! I called them and they let me reserve tickets at regular price and just pay on the train. I didn't want to risk having to buy them at the station because there are exactly two trains per day that pass through the station and I can't imagine that they pay someone to sit there all day for them.
