Wonderfalls: A question about Jaye's car

We watched the short-lived series Wonderfalls over the last week or so, and one thing has really been bothering me:

What kind of car was it that Jaye was driving? It had lettering across the back trunk, but I never had a clear enough shot to make it out. My guess is that it's from the late 50s/early 60s.

It's a Studebaker, either 1965 or 1966.

By '65 or '66, Studebakers had Chevy engines--they were running out of money, and discovered it was cheaper to buy engines from Chevrolet than to build them themselves.

There's a legend that the Studebaker Chevy engines were better than the ones Chevy used in their own cars; since Studebaker had a reputation for quality, they specified heavy-duty parts (whereas Chevy had no reputation for quality to uphold). Well, at least that's what the guy in the Studebaker club told me...
