I have proof (logical argument?) that there is no fountain of youth. If there was such a fountain, then birds such as the passenger pigeon would have drunk from it, achieving immortality.
Yet the Pass. Pigeon is extinct and no living one has been seen in a century.
Therefore the fact of extinct animals means that there is no fountain of youth. QED
I don’t believe that drinking from the Fountain of Youth (if there is such a thing) confers an invulnerability to small arms fire alongside immortality from natural causes.
The individual animal that drinks from the Fountain of Youth does not necessarily pass that immortality onto its offspring. And besides, how do you know that there aren’t exotic parrots or what have you in the South American Jungle that have drunk from the Fountain of Youth and are immortal?
I’m not saying that I believe that there is a Fountain of Youth, just that your argument against it is extremely flawed, IMHO.
There’s no fountain of youth? Aw, man, Ponce de Leon is going to be totally bummed!
Your reasoning may be correct, but since nobody’s believed in the Fountain of Youth in about 400 years and I’m not sure what you are trying to prove, I’m closing this thread. Feel free to start a new one on this topic if you can come up with a point.
