Starting post#8 and continuing. Unabated. Seriously, WTF? I’m all for sinking to pitful behavior in the pit when someone deserves it, but this looks more like a random attempt to start a pileon on an innocent bystander. Fortunately, Carol Stream remains the biggest asshole in the thread; no one is taking her bait. Still, is the “don’t be a jerk” rule completely suspended in the pit? or are there standards of jerkishness even here?
Wow, Carol Stream was being a class A douche-wagon in that thread. Even I, as an editor, have no problems with how other spell and/or use grammar. As long as the point is conveyed, anything else is practically irrelevant.
You know what? Carol Stream *is * an asshole. But this thread is still kinda dumb, for two reasons.

I have no problem with calling out an OP as abysmal as the one in that thread. Yeah, it’s “a message board, not a MENSA test”, but that doesn’t make it okay to post that unholy mess.

Well, the point wasn’t conveyed to me. My eyes glazed over somewhere in the middle of it. It was horrible writing all the way around; spelling and grammar and thought and presentation were all notably awful.
I do, at least in the manner Carol Steam did. Not everyone has an excellent grasp on writing clearly, and who’s to say why that might be? Maybe english is a second language? Or perhaps they, like my father (one of the smartest men I know), suffered a medical condition which greatly diminished their ability to spell?
Regardless of the matter, I don’t think it’s right to harp on someone when they’re merely trying to seek out help or information. If you don’t like it, don’t read it.

CS, however, seems intent on–as far as I can tell–suggesting that the OP is somehow faking something? Lying about something? Her location? Her background? Whatever; CS isn’t all that interested in the content of the OP. She’s only interested in being an asshole.

Ninety-nine percent of posts I’ve ever seen her make have been assholish. Now when I see that she’s posted something, I automatically click on it just to see what kind of bitchy, asshole thing she’s saying this time. She never disappoints, either.
Yeah, while Clippy tied himself into a pretzel and died around the third sentence of the OP, it was because of CS that I stopped reading the thread.
If I had gone any further I would have had to add her to the ignore list.

That was my initial impression, as well*, and when I composed a post to katpohl, I originally included an aside to Carol Stream, asking her to “shit or get off the pot,” so to speak.
Fortunately for me, there was a bit of a glitch in getting it posted, and by the time it was able to post, she appeared to have dialed back some on the attitude.
Anyway, to the OP (of this thread): I don’t really see Carol Stream as being in the top ten, much less the new setter-of-the-bar.
*(sort of; I felt that Carol Stream was perhaps preparing to cast doubt on the story itself.)
Note to thread: Carol Stream may be male. It’s one of the top ten secrets of the intarwebs. Carol Stream is a suburb of Chicago, for you folks playing along at home. (no, I don’t know how a town got such a silly name).
Just FYI: in post #28, CS turns the tables on us all and goes for nice. She shoots, she scores! And the crowd goes wild! 
I’m just surprised that Carol Stream has never encountered the spelling “Racheal” before.
It’s a suburb named after the daughter of a crook, so I still presume female.
All I care about, is whether or not Carol Stream is a girl or a boy, and if she’s a girl, whether she’s hot. I don’t give a tinker’s damn about anything else, I just want to fucking know what gender this poster is.

Did you read the OP? There was an awful lot of “alternative” spelling going on there.
There was a thread recently where Carol was asked about her gender. She refused to answer. Shortly thereafter, and I don’t remember whether it was in that thread or another, she referred to her husband.
So she’s female.
Well, either that or she’s a male in a same-sex marriage, but given her posting history, I highly doubt that.
