The Bobbie Gentry Appreciation Thread
So, has anyone ever posted a Bobbie Gentry appreciation thread? I can't be the only fan.
That sultry voice. Those Southern gothic stories. The guitar. The hair, the clothes and the eyelashes. I could seriously be reincarnated as the ever cool, ever hot, Miss Bobbie Gentry, and be happy. And she's still just a little bit mysterious, you know? It was the third of June, another sleepy dusty Delta day... I remember it all very well looking back, it was the summer I turned eighteen... Emm Eye Double Ess Eye Double Ess Eye...

Jill Sobule has a song, that I don't believe has been released commercially, in which she makes a plea for Bobbie Gentry to give up reclusive private life to once more let her light shine for all to see. "Where is Bobbie Gentry?"

Yep, Sobule's "Bobbie Gentry" song is as yet unreleased, but you can listen to it on her MySpace Page.
The song constitutes a "Bobbie Gentry Appreciation Thread" all in its own.
