Colour me Surprised: I did NOT know George Takei was Gay.

I remember having a similar reaction when I found out Sir Iain McClellan was a gay.

[sub]Yes… I said “a gay”… because I’m a huge Little Britain fan and it’s funny so there ok?[/sub]

I remember he came out a couple of years ago.
What I think is neat is he is a Gay Japanese American Buddhist Trekkie.

That has to win some kind of prize.

I am happy for both of them and how neat it is that he still has long standing friendships from the job that launched a thousand nerds over 40 years ago.

If he turned out to be a Republican I think my head would asplode.

I was quite disappointed when I found out the star of my absolute favourite sitcom was one: Kelsey Grammar.

I think you mean David Hyde Pierce. :dubious:

I believe you’re thinking of the guy who played his brother. Wikipedia says that Grammer has been married 3 times, but David Hyde Pierce has a (male-sounding) domestic partner.

I meant Republican. Not Gay. I know DHP is Gay (I was not that surprised to learn this) I was disappointed to find out that KG was Republican.

(I am Hetero, but I have no reason to be ‘Disappointed’ to find out if someone is Gay, except if the person in question is female… Because that makes an already astronomically unattainable woman slightly more unattainable)

Great: Now people who don’t give full attention to threads are going to think I’m homophobic.

Heh, I’m pretty sure “one” in that sentence means “Republican” (which Kelsey Grammar is) rather then "homosexual (which David Hyde Pierce is).

Interestingly John Mahoney, also from Fraiser, is actually the first person that comes to mind when I think “Gay Japanese-American Republican Buddhist Trekkie”.

OK, I have got to ask: Why???

The very little I know of John is that he’s not American (Ironically born in Manchester, England??) but he’s certainly not Japanese is he???

Or possibly John Mahoney.

Or possibly Moose, who played “Eddie.” Never really saw any girl dogs around him, did we?:dubious:

He’s dead now, o’course.

Why would he need girls? He could lick his own balls. Which would make him an Indepedent, I think.

I hear Eddie was more than one Dog.

I read this as " Eddie was more than one Doug."

And where would the world be if Ron Jeremy thought that way?

He is well known for his large-sized penis, self described as being 9.75 inches in length,[3] and gained some notoriety for being capable of autofellatio (which he first demonstrated on-screen in Inside Seka[8]) but he has since stated in a 2003 interview that all he can do these days is kiss the tip of his penis due to his weight gain.

Or Dan Butler who played Bob ‘Bulldog’ Briscoe.

According to wikipedia cast included:

“Moose” and Moose’s son “Enzo” as Eddie, the Jack Russell Terrier.

So perhaps he was bisexual.

Did you mean Sir Ian McKellen? Gandalf?

If so, you might want to read up on your Isle of Man history a bit…

Sure he is, he’s just in the closet.

(Was actually trying to make a joke, since he comes across as a fairly straight laced guy on Fraiser, so I thought the image of him as a gay buddhist trekkie was funny. Some googling reveals he’s both foreign (British as you say, not so much Japanese) and at least rumored to be gay, so jokes on me. Ah well, next time I’ll pick on Eddie.)

Reminds me of my faux-racist friends when I was a teenager, who were always talking about and searching for the elusive gay black Jew.

George Takei was one of the guests when Comedy Central did their roast of William Shatner. Someone[sup]*[/sup] said “we all know Bill’s nuts, but George has tasted them.”

  • The “someone” in question was Betty White.

Ooh, look, head shrapnel.
