Stop the rusty scream!
I live in an apartment. I can certainly ask the landlord to fix the problem eventually; i would still like to know how to fix it soon.
The door to the fire exit has a rusted corner. So does the door frame. As the title suggested: upon opening, there is an instant, loud scream. It sounds like a person or a dog's yelp. It's enough to catch the neighbour's attention. What could i use to fix it (or at least alleviate the friction)? The door is metallic. Keep in mind , where i live, the temperature is on the drop, humid and wet. Much appreciated! Last edited by Capcha; 10-16-2008 at 07:04 PM. |

Easy, lazy: WD-40
Too much work: emery cloth to bare metal, prime, paint, check for square & plumb. correct as required |
