Error correction feature on DVD players

Blue Ray ; Schmu Ray ....... I just want a player that plays every disc I put in it.

Is "error correction" a factor that I can use to make a decision? Yes I did Google it and got some old links...mainly other message boards.

Error-correction is part of any digital protocol, and can vary from simple checksums to complex coded redundant data. All players should obverse the same protocol, though. Problems playing disks are usually due to physical defects on the disks, though, such as scratches, or now due to software incompatibilities (new disks have new keys).
