End of School Party Ideas for Middle Schoolers?

I have a big yard and a trampoline. I don't have a pool (but my friend does, and we could do it there, except it's a small yard).

I was thinking of water balloon volleyball, body crayon art, hamburgers and hot dogs.

What else?

I bought a bunch of three-person slingshots with water balloons, and we're going to play 'Capture the Flag' in my mom's fields. Bonfires are always great, with roasting forks, hot dogs and marshmallows.

Bonfires are cool and the kids that age love them. If you decide to have one, please be sure to include that tidbit in the invitation so that any children with asthma will be sure to bring their inhaler.

Is "Capture the Flag" like football? Is it OK to offer beer at a kid party? I'm thinking not...but maybe it is..

I'm hoping for about 15-20 kids, boys and girls. Also inviting siblings and parents.

Yay! Party! I'm so excited!

I always just called it "Summer." It was a party of fun that lasted two and a half months.

When I was about that age, at a pool party, we also had a whipped cream fight. One can per kid. With twenty kids it might get crazy, but I'm posting it in case anyone likes the idea for slightly smaller groups.

Every end-of-school party I ever went to in Middle School involved a basement, a record player, spin the bottle, and slow dancing. I had my first kiss on the last day of 6th grade, dancing to Lionel Ritchie. Your ideas sound fun, too .

Post a sign on your door saying, "What are you doing here? You still have four years of high school, four of undergraduate college, at least two of grad school of some kind if you want to make 'real' money. So go home and hit the books!"

Then go inside, put your feet up and pour yourself a nice glass of wine.
