AKA “that '70s movie with the girl and the giant turtle”, “that '70s movie with the girl with the glowing green eyes”, or “that '70s movie where Connie Sellecca was wet most of the time”. 
(Since this question seems to arise periodically, I’ve hopefully pre-empted the next round of “Help me ID this movie”.

From some discussions on other message boards, it seems that there’s a contingent of folks who remember this made-for-TV movie in a very vague, almost dreamlike sense. It seems that many of these people saw the film (which aired in 1979, I believe) at a relatively young age, and have been haunted by it ever since.
There also are apparently a lot of other folks who didn’t see the movie and have no idea what the first group of people are talking about.
So, fellow Dopers…do you remember this flick? If so, how old were you when you saw it? Do you remember the story, or just scattered images?
As for me, I was 8 or 9, and have a very fragmented memory of the movie…but it has stuck with me all these years. Images:
