Very very rarely get a bite if anything in the temperate climate of the UK, but get bitten everywhere else (mediterranean, Caribbean, Thailand etc)
I’m wondering about that too.
I’m rarely bitten, but when I am, it doesn’t itch or swell or sting or anything. It hurts a bit when they actually bite, but afterwards, no problem at all. I wasn’t aware that this was unusual.

They LOVE to eat me. They just love it. (My mom’s the same way.) A few years ago on July 4th I was sitting out in a back yard in a swimsuit and I had mosquitoes biting my back THROUGH the chair webbing. For some reason they welted up like absolute crazy that time. Urgh.
About a week, though the worst of the itching is the first couple of days.
Metro Detroit for both.
Mosquitoes love me and I hate them. I wore bug spray on Saturday at my friends’ fire pit and still have 35 bites! They itch so bad that I woke up at 4am and couldn’t go back to sleep.
Around 20 minutes if I can manage to not itch them. Then usually just overnight. My wife scratches them until they bleed, and she suffers for a week.

What do you mean by “go away”? They leave red marks on me that last for at least two weeks. If you mean the itching: used to be 3-4days, but I’ve discovered that hydrogen peroxide stops the itching in one day.
Born in Washington, D. C. and I don’t recall having a problem there. Now in northeast Florida since 2004 and between the skeeters and the heat, I just stay indoors as much as I can.
I was bitten dozens of times by mosquitos when I was a kid, but they don’t bite me anymore. I don’t know why.
I was born in southeastern PA.

Still NJ.
Never been bitten by a mosquito as far as I can tell, or have no reaction. This is weird because I have lots of other skin allergies. Bugs still swarm around me like everyone else when I’m out, but I never have bites.
Born in NYC, live in upstate NY.
How long does it take mosquito bites to go away?
Absolutely ages, I still have red marks on my ankles from bites more than a month ago, bites on arms last about two weeks. More areas than that are not exposed during mozzie season.

With great timing (since I have 35 bites right now), my mom sent me this interesting article. I have O- blood, so perhaps that explains why I’m such a damn tasty treat to them.
