Floridopers, who's excited about the cool front?

It was actually cooler last night, I pulled my sheet over me instead of throwing it off. I am looking forward to the even cooler temps where we will have highs in the 80's and feels like temps in the 90's instead of our usual feels like 109's. And evening temperatures in the 70's! I'm almost giddy about it. I might be able to mow my lawn without suffering heatstroke!

I'm all about a cool front. Hell screw that how about a cold front?

It's been in the 90s everyday since what, May? I am ready for a cool down.

Cool front, cold front, lukewarm front, anything is better than 90+ degree temps and 70%+ humidity and feels like temps in the 100's.

For non-Floridians our seasons are Summer and the occasional relief we get from cold fronts. We sometimes call them, Fall, Winter and Spring but they don't really last that long.

I almost get a boner when thinking about how it's going to start cooling off in a few weeks.

Well, I consider 4 a few. It's usually Halloween before I'm comfortable enough to turn off the AC, at least at night.

Yeah I can't wait to shut off the AC. I've had that thing running since March. I live on a 3rd floor so my place heats up as soon as the sun comes up.

Ivy, how are you?

All I can say is Boo Ya! Bring it on!

And I'm happy for my wife, who has started working outside a lot lately in the heat for work.

It means the end of gardening season and I have to figure out what I'm going to do with the enormous Plumerias that can't survive outside all winter.

On the plus side, I get to save some phat cash on A/C bills, sleep with the windows open, and dig out a couple sweaters. And I get to wear my fancy new leather jacket again.

I moved here from Ohio because I hate the cold, so overall, I am not really looking forward to winter, despite how mild and lame Florida winters really are.

I noticed it was a little less humid when I went to and from the car at lunchtime, but my car thermometer said 92 degrees.

There's definitely a cold front going on in my workplace, though. As usual.

Fall is my favorite season of the year (is, too, a Florida season)! It's lovely, sunny, and dry and not cold enough to make me wish I lived in Beliz.

Who what when?? I would LOVE a cool front. I'm in Key Largo and it has been jungle hot here for months on end, per usual for summertime. I would love to open the windows and shut off the AC for a day or 2.

Up here in North Florida, it's supposed to get down to the low 50s at some point this week. We're all excited and having conversations like: "I'm gonna wear my peacoat!" "Well, I'm gonna wear my boots!" "I can't wait to put a quilt on the bed!"

I'll be selling at the flea market this weekend. I don't do it in the summer because it's not my steady job, so why bother in the heat? I'm stoked to be back at it. The extra money will do me some good.

If I hadn't just wrapped up a vacation to the NE, during which I enjoyed lows in the low 50's/upper 40's, I would be seriously psyched. Still won't mind it...

I drove to work this morning (68 degrees F) with the window down. Man, I've been waiting for this. Of course, we're moving tomorrow to a house with a swimming pool. Yep, we decided to get a house with a swimming pool in October. Oh, well, there should be about another month of swimming weather if I tough it out.

I'm near Orlando, and it's supposed to be back in the 90s next week, so I think you'll have several more weeks of swimming.

I had to drive from Jacksonville down the road to St. Augustine today. It was great! I took 1A instead of I-95 and had the windows down and, for the first time in months, the AC off.

This morning was cool, but humid. Now, it's warmer but dry. I prefer the latter to the former.

I get joint pain when the weather gets cooler but I still love cooler weather. I can handle a little pain, it's the "can't move, can't breathe, soaked in sweat, can't do anything, I think I have heatstroke" feeling that I don't want.

The change in the weather threw a monkey wrench into my sinuses. I got up yesterday with a splitting headache and didn’t get to feeling better until after I puked…on the up side, I stayed home from work, got some reading done, and I prefer a minor headache-and-puke episode to the constant misery Wile E describes.

This is what I miss about my years in Tallahassee. The weather got cool enough that I could wear some spiffy winter clothes, drink hot chocolate/coffee/hot cider and not get overheated, and my skin would completely clear up and "glow". I also miss the February/March backyard parties with bonfires, a keg, and trying to hold back use of "I hate fuzzy bunnies" until the smoke from the bonfire was unbearable.

Orlando winter is just not the same.

I have Reynaud's Syndrome (capillaries constrict in my fingertips, cutting off circulation), so whenever temps are below 70º or whenever I hold an icy cold glass, my fingertips go numb and turn many fantastic colors. The blue is my favorite. Then they hurt like hell when I warm them back up and the blood starts flowing again.

Precisely! I live in downtown Tally, and we've got a space where we have bonfires all through the winter. I love when it's cold enough to just set a twelvepack of beer outside the circle of fire warmth and not worry about icing it.

Howdy, neighbor! I'm across Monroe and up toward the capital from you. (Capitol? Which one is right for the building? I never remember.) Too bad it clouded up again today, eh?

A powerful front came through S. Texas early this morning in the form of a bed-shaking line of thunderstorms. No issues with that though as I love the rain, especially sleeping to it. It took us from warm and muggy days to a cooler, drier, snappier, blue sky day with the gentlest of breezes.

This is awesome.

Sorta toward Georgia Street/Brevard? Or closer? And I think it's Capitol for the actual building.

I didn't mind the cloudy so much today because it holds the heat in a bit and thaws out my frosty paws. (Frosty Paws, see also "ice cream for dogs.") But when it's cloudy, it seems like it should rain or else I feel cheated.

And then I have to water the hot peppers again. * sigh *

Know where the Firestone is? Precisely there. You may have seen my friends and I if you ever came down this way to watch the Springtime Parade.

I'm hoping it doesn't rain tonight - I have an outside event planned. Oh, and if you ever have extra hot peppers you're looking to give away, I'm your man.

Ah. I watch the Springtime Parade from the Tally State Bank lawn.

And I do have many, many, many jars of blueberry-habanero jam I'm looking to give away. Hand picked organic berries from Havana, and pepps straight outta my yard.
