Earl "Jay" Watson: 1960s WFAA program director: Still living?

Is he still living? Not a lot of info online for him.

A recent doc “JFK: 3 Shots that Changed America” has been airing on cable. One of the first live TV reports of the shooting was by Earl “Jay” Watson, WFAA (Dallas) program director. He was so on top of things that within a couple of hours he was interviewing Abraham Zapruder. Also, shortly after the shooting, he interviewed a family, the dad of which said he had heard the shots (plural) coming from the grassy knoll (although he didn’t use that term).

I just found it a little interesting that there’s so little information on him–compared to the other news reporters on 11-22-63–considering his being so on top of things. I did find and “Earl Watson” who died in Arizona in 2001, and was wondering if that might be the same person, as he would have been about the right age.

He died April 19, 2001. Here’s his obituary:

Cool. Thanks!
ETA: And a rather curt obit.
