Gabrielle Anwar -Opinons
Gabrielle Anwar appears on Burn Notice. Most of the time she appears in sunglasses and a short dress. Her dialogue is limited to clever repartee with love interest Michael and burned out spy Sam.
I love Burn Notice. It's hard not to notice how little Gabrielle Anwar does. Usually they'll say Fiona is working on something. But, you never see her do much except sticking a bomb on a car or house. Honestly, I see zero chemistry between Fiona and Michael Is Gabrielle Anwar primarily a model that does some acting? Do you think she's attractive? I'm biased because I'm not into stick thin women. Gabrielle Anwar looks even more emaciated this season then ever. The skin on her face is very, very tight and skull light. She wasn't that bad in season 1. What do you think? Last edited by aceplace57; 01-29-2010 at 08:40 AM. |

Blasted time outs, added in the time I used making the poll. I couldn't make any changes. Last edited by aceplace57; 01-29-2010 at 08:48 AM. |

I'm really not impressed with her acting. Like you said, there's no chemistry between the two and she doesn't really seem to do much. It seems like the writers want you to believe she's awesome, but she's not showing it. Also, she is way too thin in an unnatural way. There are most definitely women who are extremely thin and look healthy. She does not. Even though I'm more on the fattie side of the scale I am one of the last people to ever say something like, "she needs to eat a sandwich". But for GA, she really looks unhealthy.

I've not seen "Burn Notice" but the last thing I saw her in was "The Tudors" and I was very surprised at how not well she is aging. Granted, she still looks better than your average bear and my last memory of her was the dance scene in "Scent of a Woman" so of course she going to have changed after 18 years, but I thought she looked haggard. I also thought she was the only actor that seemed out of place; too contemporary or something. Not that I didn't enjoy her performance. Her character was spunky and fun but it wasn't convincing in the least, for me.

I have thought that she was looking very, very thin. An article I saw says she weighs less than 100 lbs.

Neither good nor bad as an actress, but so thin she's not shaggable. I'd be afraid of getting impaled on a bone. She's a frickin' skeleton with skin covering. There's no chemistry probably because Jeffrey Donovan really doesn't want to touch her (especially after having Moon Bloodgood show up last season to show what a real woman looks like).

I watched last nights Burn Notice and they had a bunch of bikini babes at a pool. Fiona was in a white dress. I don't recall ever seeing her in a bikini on this show. Probably because she's too thin. I got a hunch she's scary thin under that dress with all the ribs showing. <shudder>

She's way too thin now to be attractive.
I liked her in If Looks Could Kill and Scent of a Woman though. |

She has nice abs - but is skeletal everywhere else... I also just don't find her really believable as this tough-guy gun runner. Neither was Robin Givens when she guested... |

Her skin looks very leathery. She has a weird old-young look to her.

Yes. Haven't seen her on Burn Notice, but she was quite tasty then: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBHhSVJ_S6A

She plays the Burn Notice character well, but is far too skinny to be alluring. She was much more fetching in Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead.

I still have a soft spot for her from Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead. I remember thinking that The Three Musketeers was awesome solely because it had both Gabrielle Anwar and Julie Delpi. Double yum. Last edited by Ellis Dee; 01-30-2010 at 02:03 AM. |

Too skinny. Her skin is too overly tan and leathery, and she has obviously had some work done on her face. The show would be a bit better with a more real-looking actress.

Call me weird, but I like the skinny and fit look.
When she was a kid she was in a UK show called Press Gang. |

She isn't too too thin, but she is certainly on the edge there. Her main problem is that it seems like once she got to Florida, she really got into the tanning thing and it's not been good for her skin. She's also got a fairly wide mouth and sort of other odd facial features. She's a better actor than Jeffrey Donovan, though neither of them is awesome. |

She's also terrible at being Irish - seriously, I only kept watching because I was promised that she gave up the Oirish accent. I don't know if her American accent's any better, but it's less annoying to my ears. However, I think she's a decent actress. When she gets the chance to actually act, she's believable. Problem is, I have such a problem with having an unreformed IRA terrorist as a 'good guy' that I am never, ever going to like her. It must be difficult to act a character that has so few redeeming features. |

I do have t hand it to Jeffrey Donovan on one part - he played two cahracter on screen that I loathed - one in The Changeling and the other in Hitch and I like him in Burn Notice - so he can't be all bad!

I don't know if Donovan would qualify as a great actor in the sense of a Lawrence Olivier level of talent. But he is great for the needs of Burn Notice - especially when he slips into an undercover character. His "dumb hick" is great, his "aloof evil mastermind" (like this past week in the red shirt) is appropriately spooky, and his various foreign accents are perfect for the slightly tongue-in-cheek tenor of the show.......TRM

Too skeletal and leathery. The skin around her mouth just creeps me out. I keep expecting to jump out of my skin as some lizard tongue shoots out.

I agree with skeletal scary skinny. I think it was two week's past where she had a bikini on, but a mostly-see through "dress" over the top. Just enough to not be creeped out but almost turned on by what you couldn't see.

I used to think she'd be the "next big thing" in the 90s. She was gorgeous in Things to Do in Denver and Scent of a Woman. I don't watch Burn Notice but I was really struck by how much older and thinner she was as Princess Margaret in The Tudors.

I met her many years ago when I was in middle school and a featured extra in Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, the Disney movie about the high diving horses. At the time she was supposed to be the Next Big Thing. Evidently not so much.
