Favorite TV opening Title Credits

Many TV series had very cool opening theme music or clever title sequences, what are some of your favorites. Mine are as follows:

UFO

Hawaii Five-O

Wonder Woman

Myserty Movie Theme (Columbo et al)

Johnny Quest

Those are good. But isn’t this one the never-to-be-bested greatest of all time!

Deadwood

I’m liking Space:1999. No linkie, so sorry, at work.

Farscape always had great intros, especially as they went along. This link should show all of them.

Farscape

I also love Caprica’s opening sequence, but I can’t find it online. Anyone?

Dead Like Me

Following UFO mentioned in the OP see also:

Stingray Anything can happen in the next half hour!

And follow links on the youtube page for:

Thunderbirds 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Thunderbirds are Go!

Captain Scarlet This is the voice of the Mysterons OO We know that you can hear us Earthmen…
Personal favourite is:

The Rockford Files Can anyone find a good link for this, I’m only seeing the theme tune over stills…

Dexter

Carnivale

Rome

And don’t forget it’s famous closing credits.
Aaaaaah. . . Marina. . . .

I definitely second Dexter, it’s awesome.

I’m also partial to Firefly.

I also love the opening to Chips!

We think too much alike! I would add The Sopranos, but you got the best ones.

I just watched the Wonder Woman open. I remember so much of the theme song’s words! (Of course, I worshiped Wonder Woman, along with the Bionic Woman.)

Wonder Woman!
In your satin tights,
Fighting for your life,
And the old Red, White and Blue!

I fondly remember all mentiond.

However, there is a special place in my hert for the opening of…

I Spy

Came in here to sing: “Woke up this morning, got yourself a gun”.

Yes! HBO and Showtime have a way with opening credits. I must tip my hat to Sex and the City for that feature as well.

Most of the older shows I remember better for the music than the graphics.

I believe the line is, fighting for your rights

Women’s LIB in the 70s you know.

Yep! I was going to include True Blood, but the maggot scene grosses me out, and I’m not sure how I feel about all the stereotypes in those credits. They fit with the southern backwoods feel of the show, but I still don’t like 'em. The song is excellent though.

Twin Peaks

First thing that came to mind was (of course) Star Trek.

That was amazingly different for the time.

And UFO was a blast from the past.
I need to see if Hulu has any of those episodes available.

I did find a clip of one of my old favorites: Then Came Bronson and if you really want a trip down memory lane with theme music and such, start with this better version of the music and scout around for others. One I really liked back then was Adventures in Paradise.

However, for theme music nobody will ever outdo Henry Mancini:
Mr. Lucky
Peter Gunn
