These Bonds Pay Interest in Chocolate

Original thinking at fancy-shmancy U.K. chocolatier Hotel Chocolat, which wants to raise funds for uses including more stores: It's offering bonds that pay interest in chocolate.

Investors in the £2,000 bond will receive six free tasting boxes a year worth £107.70, equating to a 5.38% return; anyone who buys the £4,000 bond gets 13 boxes worth £233.35 a year, or a 5.83% return. Sadly for chocoholic Dopers living outside the U.K., it looks as though only Britons are eligible to invest.

It's just short of a con. Those boxes of chocolate will cost them nowhere near the amounts they state.
