The next time you smell MJ

I was just in Café Society and took a glance in the Pot Concert thread and it got me to thinking. California has a Legalization measure on the ballot this fall. That being said I live near Stockton, or do most of my shopping there anyway and it occurs to me, I doubt I will be able to tell the change in status. I regularly see people rolling and firing up everywhere. I smell marijuana smoke nearly anytime I’m not at home. I don’t think it’s been decriminalized I just think no one here gives a crap. So on to the poll?

You left out “First time this hour”

And what would have been my response, “Relieved this poll isn’t about Michael Jackson.”

I was in amsterdam last week …

put me down for “first time today.” I “smelled” some a few days ago, and probably will get the chance again this weekend.

D’oh, it would actually be the second time this month if I were to smell it right now. I was at a Tom Petty concert earlier this month and it was quite abundant.

What were the options again? Man, why you got to make the poll so hard?

I voted “first time this week,” but that only really counts if “this week” started on Wednesday. I’m at the UN Plaza in SF three or four times a week, and there’s always someone who reeks of weed around there, even if you don’t count the homeless. Couple weeks back, I wandered down by city hall, and there was a couple sitting in front of the seat of San Francisco’s government, passing a pipe back and forth, and not making much of an effort to hide it.

I almost added one for the first time today but I hadn’t left my house yet.

This week…if the week started today.

It depends on whether you mean smell it burning or smell it lingering on people’s hair/clothes. I was amused that the coworker who reeked of pot last month is older than my mom. Hmm, maybe she’s got glaucoma…

Our downstairs neighbours sit around a plastic table on the tiny front “yard” and smoke cigs and pot on a regular basis. It wafts into our apartment every time.

As a 49 yr old healthy American Male, my first thought was Michael Jordan. And if I had a seen a Michael Jackson video recently, I might have thought of him. and I really have to desire to smell either.

Marijuana is not even on my radar anymore. Frankly, I am not sure if I have even smelled marijuana in this century.

The last place I smelled marijuana was in my back yard when I was doing some gardening. It was a long time ago.

I don’t remember the last time I smelled it. It isn’t often, but it is kind of a non-event.

I will vote to legalize, but…I hope people keep it inside.

Smelled some on July 4 at the fireworks, but not since then.

I swear there is a bonfire of the stuff on a regular basis around here. There have been nights when it smells like there is a Grateful Dead concert on our front lawn. I have no idea where it’s coming from, or why the cop who lives two doors down hasn’t decided to put an end to the reefer madness.

The first time since marching band practice in high school. People would honest to Og show up early to school, while we were practicing, and light up in their cars. And it was so strong we would smell it on the field. (I only know because other people told me that’s what it was. I thought it was burning leaves.)

I’ve been around people who smoke it since then, but never while they were doing it. My friends always knew I hate altered states like that. It’s a control thing.

I’ve always thought that we needed to work on a way to let people smoke whatever they want without releasing the smoke back out into the air. That’s when I can get behind these people that say it’s their business.

And, yes, my first inclination is that that meant Michael Jackson (which would be very gross.) I don’t even know of that many people who call it marijuana, let alone try to abbreviate it.

School has been out since June, so I won’t smell the ganja until sometime after the next school year starts. For some reason, there are seniors who don’t realize that when they get toasted in their car before class, they reek when they walk in the room. One quick email to security and they find themselves at the end of a search.

I guess I’m the only one who, when reading the title, thought “How and why on earth would I want to smell Michael Jackson…especially in light of recent events? :dubious:”

Last time I smelled it was a few days ago. Guy below me loves to light it up once or twice a week…so the next time will probably be in another couple of days.

None of those apply. I smell it every single day thanks to our neighbors. I don’t mind. I love the smell, especially when they use those little cigars to roll them.

I used to be a big fan but I can’t risk it. In Tennessee they act like you’ve raped someone if you’re caught with a freakin roach in your car.
