What happened to the the My Favorites tab on Firefox on my wife's laptop?

Last evening, it just went poof, and I can’t seem to get it back, no matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall it. She’s running version 3.6.8 on a computer with Windows 7, if that makes any difference.

Personally, I think it has something to do with this stupid Petville toolbar she installed several days ago, but when I bring that up, she gets pissy and says “well, it’th my computer!” :smack:

Anyway: Help!

You mean the bookmarks toolbar has disappeared?

Are you talking about the Bookmarks Sidebar? View > Sidebar > Bookmarks.

Are you talking about the Bookmarks Toolbar? View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar.

Are you talking about something else entirely? If so, you’ll have to explain the term, because I don’t know what else a “My Favorites tab” would be in Firefox.

You both correctly deduced that it was the bookmarks toolbar, despite my idiotically garbled post.

Thanks for the help!

Well, not so fast.

The whole “File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help” line is gone.

Right-click on the top bar (right below the blue one that lists the name of the current page) and see if Menu Bar is checked. If not, check it and it should reappear.

I’m guessing:

-Wife clicks on MTCicero’s Favorites
-Wife see how many porn sites are on MTCicero’s Favorites
-Wife deletes MTCicero’s Favorites
-MTCicero heads over to the Dope to see what’s up

That’s how my Favorites disappear…

That probably would be the case, excepting the fact that it’s her laptop, which I hardly ever use because I despise laptops.

And, Dewey Finn, I’ll be attempting your solution presently.

Tried this, and I get no “Menu Bar” option. All that comes up is a drop down menu with these options:

Open All in Tabs
New Bookmark…
New Folder…
New Separator
Cut
Copy
Paste
Delete
Sort By Name
Properties

And it says Mozilla Firefox is operating in Safe Mode.

try F10 key

I get those options if I right-click on the Bookmarks Toolbar. Try right-clicking above that.

I solved it. Finally. I hit the ALT key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily, then I, as told to do above, went into View and checked the Menu Bar option. And unchecked the evil Zynga Bar option (and sent the wife a message telling her that if she ever again makes the thing appear on her laptop, that her laptop would become my laptop, even though I despise the effing things).

Again, thanks to all for the good advice and tips.
