I am just waiting for this morning's New York Times to come up on Amazon for download and taking some time to look at some old movies, maybe something for my Mother for Christmas.

Good Morning Miss Dove os something like that. A schoolmarm in a small town is on her deathbed and she relives key events with her students growing up.

Found it. The 1955 movie has not yet made it to DVD. The book is only available used.
