Name that tune - Casablanca

After Ugarte (Peter Lorre) is arrested, Bogie addresses the patrons, assures them all is well, then says, "All right, Sam," and Sam and the band begin to play ... what?

It's familiar but I can't recall anything past the opening notes we hear in the film. Name that tune.

Good try. But Sam sings that in another earlier scene. This one is an instrumental. And like I said, we only hear the beginning it.

OK, I just whipped out the DVD and watched the scene. It's none of the above. It might be a popular song I just don't know (and I know a lot), or it may be just an incidental composed for the score. I'll try to find out.

I'm still curious about this question. The tune can be heard in the last few seconds of this clip:

The same melody is heard in Laura at 4:42 of this clip.

Only soundtrack listing for "Laura" at IMDb is "You Go To My Head"

What is the tune that shows up at 4:42? I'm pretty certain the band in Rick's place plays it in Casablanca. I haven't confirmed yet.

Thanks. That's me. I'm tpellman. "theatre lobby" is likely referring to the scene in Laura during which that music plays.

And it's not "You Go To My Head"?

I'm not musical but it sounds like it to me.
