Chuck (11/29/2010): "Chuck vs the Leftovers"

I'm glad that Ellie at least got to finally see her mom, although that post-Thanksgiving dinner must have been epically awkward. Timothy Dalton's portrayal of Volkov is so malevolently demented. Did anyone figure out what movie he was trying to portray?

Ellie saw her Mom a few episodes ago, though she was handcuffed at the time.

I was hoping the movie Dalton was miming was The Living Daylights, but it was Lawrence of Arabia.

"Come with me if you want to live." Awesome! Just frakkin' awesome!

I wish there had been a little more Die Hard in Morgan's story, but I still enjoyed it.

Overall, a good episode.

Yeah, I loved that line!

And I was hoping that Morgan would actually do something totally unexpected, and be able to help Casey, but instead he came off looking like a buffoon. Now, he is very good at playing a buffoon, but I wish they would let him be somewhat competent occasionally.

Oh, he was supposed to be riding a camel. I thought he was doing the James Bond thing.

I didn't get the Morgan Die Hard plotline until he taped the gun to his back. Then I thought back on it, and realized all the parallels. Hiding in the ducts, the bare feet, stepping on tacks, walking around with a bloody bandage on his foot, a lot of his lines ("Think, Morgan! Think!"). It was awesome.

And Timothy Dalton is just great in this role. He's the best villain they've had on this show so far, and I hope they keep him around for a long time. Actually, I hope they keep the entire show around.... I keep reading that Chuck is 'on the bubble' for a next-season renewal.

I wonder what Ellie did to 'fix' the brain scans? She claimed that her Dad didn't do it quite right because he was thinking like an engineer instead of a neuroscientist. I wonder if she enhanced the intersect in some way? At first, I thought that Chuck wasn't even going to have to flash anymore - that he'd just have those skills and memories permanently. But that doesn't seem to be the case. So I wonder what she changed?

I'm betting he can now "flash on demand", without the need for a crisis to arise.
