Long, surprisingly productive day at work.
Went for a walk, then had din-din (good ramen, with peas - had to make sure there was something green for dinner, of course). Have been surfing and am now quite tired. Might sew some buttons on the sweater that I knit before going to bed. Hope everyone is feeling better (how are you doing, rosie?) Hugs. GT |

Finished off my sweater, finally. Just had a couple of ends to weave in and buttons to sew on. Might need to reinforce the buttonholes, but I'm going to play that by ear.

I started the day wearing green, and end it feeling green. Dinner was one of those "What the heck do we have that's edible?" nights. Corn dogs, canned mac-n-cheese and green beans won out over Five Guys burgers only because we didn't need to leave the house.
Might be OK for a kid, but no so wonderful for middle-aged adults with middle-aged metabolism. |

Good Mornin' Y'all! Up and caffienatin'. *YAWN* 'Tis goin' to be another of those starts out chilly but ends up warm days, aka, Spring.
I irk for five hours today then I get to go cube up and season chuck roasts, run the all important errand of pickin' up a keg of green beer for tomorrow's festivities, make room in the fridge at the church house for the keg, make sure the designated keg trash can (yes, we have one whose only purpose is to hold an iced down keg cause, well, gotta make sure the important things are taken care of! ) is clean and attend Even Song this evenin'. Somewhere in all of that some dindin must be had. I foresee fast food. Then there's tomorrow's all day cookin' marathon. I's tahrd and ain't even got started yet! Now, however, I seek out more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tummy after which purtification for irk must commence. Happy Firday Y'all! Good morning and howdy - it's finally FIRDAY!!!
I'm up and caffeinating, and yes late again today but that's okay, it's FIRDAY! LOL Swampy, thanks for mentioning the Irish soda bread because it made me remember to stop off and get some for our St. Patrick's day corned beef and cabbage and boy was it good! I had a couple of slices for brekkie this morning even, toasted. ![]() I'm wearing a lilac purple shirt with dark turquoise slacks today. While it may sound like an unusual combo, it works for me. Sorry about the short notice on your travel, BBBBBobbio, but at least it will be warm there, cause the cold is supposed to return here tomorrow, and last into the coming week. Today is my only nephew's 21st birthday! Happy Birthday John! (I have one nephew and one niece...out of four brothers, only one had kids!!) My cousin's birthday is on Tuesday--she's the one I'm closest to out of all my cousins. ![]() Hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend! Those in the DC area, please enjoy the warm sunny weather today.

Last night I wore red, covered in glitter, with one silver sleeve.
It was dress rehearsal for competition. eta - in answer to gt's question, still battling this 'whatever-it-is'; I woke up coughing, but I think that's more a function of last night's exertion than anything else. Between the long sleeve costume, cramped room, and insufficient changing room space, I sweated off 2 pounds! Last edited by anyrose; 03-18-2011 at 12:37 PM. |

Blurf. Working from home today so I can have some peace and can concentrate. It may be great for the career to be a Subject Matter Expert, but it makes it damn hard to concentrate. My normal work is easy enough to pick up and put down and pick up again, but the Project from Hell requires focus. So I'm hope with only the cat and the Dope to distract me. I think the Project from Hell is ready to be shipped off for review so I'm pleased with my progress.
I'm not so pleased with the continued sinus congestion and the resulting sore throat from having to breathe through my mouth. Why, oh why, can I not get through a single winter without a sinus cold? Grrr! Our gerbil died sometime overnight. She wasn't particularly cuddly or handle-able so we aren't overly sorry to see her go. And we noticed over the last two days that she didn't look so good so it wasn't a surprise. KT gave her a cheeto last night so she ended life happy. Then I had to clean up the cage this morning since it's garbage day. ::sigh:: Just what i wanted to do while I feel sick. I think I may be far enough with work that I can justify taking the rest of the day as a sick day. Blurf. Sweater pics, gt? |

I was going to take half a day off, but stuff precluded that. However, I did get to leave an hour early, so I got to stop at WalMart for a few things, then come home and open the house. It's 80°F here with a lovely breeze. It won't last, but I'll enjoy while I can. The chill is supposed to return tonight, and a coworker said someone threatened snow next week. bastards!!!!
Cozmo is on the list again - he peed in the dining room twice today and at least twice yesterday. I just finished cleaning the carpet again. Stoopit dog. Last night, a cat wandered up to the family room window and Taz went ballistic! His tail poofed up and he made yowling noises like a demon at the gates of hell! It was hilarious. The outside cat just sat there looking in before he wandered across the porch and, I assume, back home. Taz is nuts! TGIF. Here's hoping I don't get called into work this weekend. |

We've got yet another color here.
Copper As in the UPS guy said we had a baby copperhead on the sidewalk. I'm a city kid. About all that I retained from the conversation with the man in brown was "blah blah mumble SNAKE! blah yadda yadda" It's more the size of an earthworm, but it very clearly had a head and mouth. It's dead now, but don't these things tend to come in groups, and where's Mama Snake? |

Howdy Y'all! Beast is all cubed up and fridge is all cleaned out so that the keg will fit in it. Keg trash can is all clean and sanitized as are all choppin' and cuttin' surfaces in the church kitchen. If'n I knew I could get away with it I'd like the doors, but, alas, I know I can't get away with that. Instead of Even Song I will be pickin' up the keg because I can't go pick it up until between six-thirty and seven tonight. It's free, so it ain't like I can complain, right? Besides that means there'll be help at the church house to get the keg off'n twuck. The kitchen smelled all corned beefy and nummy when I left. I'll need to pour up the broth from the corned beasts and refrigerate when I get back there. I told the corned beast chef that I would cause it'd be cooled down by then. I'm a good person.

![]() ![]() If they're little, I can deal with them. If they're at the zoo, I can deal with them. Large, in-the-wild snakes? No, thanks. Glad you could participate in rehearsal, at least, rosie. ::Waves hi to Taters, who stopped by earlier this week:: I'm working on pictures this weekend taxi. I have a bunch of stuff I need to delete from my laptop because the hard drive is super full, so I'm scared to download anything from my camera. I'm going to clear out a bunch of files and should be able to update pictures soon. It's this pattern, which is super-easy (it's knit as a single piece). I would do it again, but with more fitting. It's a great starter sweater, though. FCM: are you on ravelry? You have to register, but it's free and they don't spam you. They have the best collection of patterns that I know of. If you go to the patterns page and select advanced search, you can narrow it down to only include patterns with pictures, for adults, projects that are knitting (and not crochet), etc. The filter stuff is on the left side. They link to patterns at all sorts of sites, so it's faster to start there than to tour the rest of the internet. There might be a forum over there where you could ask as well. (I'm a member of a couple of groups, but don't really participate much.) Feel free to friend me, if you like. You'll see other people you know in my friends list. Also, there's an ongoing yarn thread in CS where you could ask for recommendations (several people have done that with other projects). It's Firday!!!!! I'm planning to start us off on Monday, by the way, unless someone else has a pressing topic. I had an idea during the week and was going to start a non-MMP thread, but then thought it would actually make a good MMP. Off in search of food.... Hugs. GT |

![]() I let my inner redneck out and drove a keg of beer across town in the back of a pickup truck. It's a heathen inner redneck cause it drove the keg of beer to a church. I got help gettin' it out of the back of twuck by promisin' that his cup shall not get empty tomorrow and that he shall not "donate" to get said cup filled. We request a "donation" of a dollah in order to get a cup which may then get filled with green beer. However each time someone wishes to refill said cup another "donation" of a dollah is requested. Call it a handlin' fee. The beer guardians have also been appointed. Their job is to make sure no one under the age of twenty-one gets into said green beer even if their daddy sends 'em up to "get him a beer." Yep, I have had to have that conversation wherein I tell said daddy to haul his own carcass over if'n he wants another beer. ![]() I even got told on to the Priest once. Father Jim told the fool I said it nice when I told him to haul his own carcass over cause he would have told the fool to get off his ass and get his own beer. I actually got some sleep today! I woke at 5, wondered why the alarm hadn't gone off, then remembered it was Saturday - yay! So I fell back to sleep for 2 hours. FCD let Scruffy out, so yay for that. I'm thinking of waking him up now and taking him to breakfast.
Today won't be as warm as yesterday, but I think I'll work outside some. I've got some seeds to plant and that'll require me to move some flower pots from the back to the front. I also need to lay out where my veggie patch is going to be. It'd be nice if I could get the tiller running, too... But for now, I think I'll wake my sweetie and take him to breakfast. Good morning all! I'm up and caffeinated. I've also had two (toaster) waffles and some scrambled egg w/cheese for brekkie so my tummy is a bit stuffed.
Thanks, FCM for posting in my OP about helping out disabled folks. When I am able or when I was more able to, I frequently held open doors, etc. for others--anyone, not just disabled. What never ceased to amaze me is that often, not a word of thanks or even acknowledgement is said--not that it is necessary -but- it is the polite thing to do. I think I should mention here that I had a copy of Miss Frances Book of Manners when I was young, and was taught to say please and thank you. And men should not wear hats indoors! (LOL) (This is Miss Frances of Ding Dong School--and yes, I'm close to 60!!) I can only speak for myself, but sometimes (bolding to make it clear that it is only sometimes), I am embarassed by my inability to do things, and when people call attention to it, it can make me uncomfortable. ![]() I finally have a date for the cataract surgery on my right eye! It's Monday, May 16th. This was supposed to happen on February 28, but got postponed as I had been sick with a very nasty cold and was still coughing. I finally got my receipts together and put in for my FSAFEDS monies. Some of the claims were denied because they couldn't read the receipts (they had faded that badly; even darkening them on the copier didn't help much); this last batch that I faxed in, I had forgotten to sign the claim form! In my defense (somewhat), the benefits counselor I spoke with said it was the number one error in claims. Easy to believe! I hope to get out to Target today and get a few things. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. While it's not as warm as it was yesterday, it still looks to be a good day here. Tomorrow might be a different story though! |

Happy Saturday, Mumpers!
Breakfast has been et - I made ham and mushroom omelettes, with sliced oranges as a garnish. Yum! Being lazy other than that. Mr Rebo is finally mowing the back yard.
