Need timeshare rental advice
Renting out my timeshare in Maui. Have great location and price, but craiglist ads aren't getting responses. I know there are a million crappy sites out there to rent your timeshare with but do any Dopers have experience with these? I'd like a legitimate site that isn't gonna scam me. Ideas?

You have the option of banking it and allowing it to used as a trade. You won't get money but you could use it another time.

Have you tried VRBO.com?
Make sure to have lots of photos and *accurate* descriptions of amenities. |

Our timeshare company will rent ours out for us if we can not use it. They cut over 25 percent, but they do all the work.

vrbo.com is the one I always use when I'm looking for a rental.

I will third the vrbo site. I've been to Hawaii three times in the past few years, and have used vrbo to find a condo each time with great success. I would NEVER use craigslist.

Definitely vrbo.com. We use them for one of our weeks every year.

Similar to VRBO, AirBNB is a great site for this sort of thing also.

Watch out for AirBNB scams, though.

VRBO won't work well unless you're going to command top dollar for the rental because it costs ~$250 to place an ad.
For timeshare rentals, try Redweek.com. It only lists timeshare rentals, nothing else. It's about $10 to join, IIRC, and you rarely get scammers/spammers because you have to pay to see the ads. If you let me know the name of the place (PM me if you want) and the dates, I can do a quick search to see what other owners are listing for that week. |
