I am reminded of the probably apocryphal story of the French asking the USA for advisers in 1914.
“How many do you need?” ask the Americans.

The accounts of that story I’ve heard was that it was a British general asking and a British soldier who would be killed.
But I’ve heard the Frenchman involved identified as Foch and Clemenceau so apocryphal is probably right.

Are you upset that the President deployed troops without a congressional declaration of war? That hasn’t been necessary for small-scale deployments like this for at least 20 years, by my recollection.
Are you upset about the mission? A group of about 100 troops have been sent to assist regional authorities in removing a madman. According to the CNN article, they’re not even conducting the tactical operations, just providing support. Their Rules of Engagement are for self-defense only.
Have you been consistently against any deployments of this nature in the past, from all administrations? What makes this mission different?
