I’m not an Apple user. I don’t have an iPhone, an iPod, an iPad, or a Mac. While I understand certain things in the abstract, I don’t truly understand why Apple has such a loyal following. I certainly don’t understand it at a gut level. Nor do I truly understand how Apple stacks up against its competition.
My instincts have also told me that the death of Steve Jobs won’t be disastrous for Apple. I have to believe that someone with his distinct personality would have assembled a leadership team that embodies his strongest qualities. They might conceivably lack his abrasive nature, but that could ultimately be beneficial to the company.
So tell me, what do you think the future of Apple looks like? I’m thinking mostly short- to mid-term, since I’m sure that people’s opinions will be guided largely by Apple’s current product line.
