For me, Nutella is the only thing I can think of, but I guess it's not that unusual.

A high school friend of mine liked to sip on white vinegar. (Usually when she was also putting it on french fries.)

Yeah, sweetened condensed milk. And cans of frosting. (this only applies to cans that are already opened and have just a little left in them, I don't buy cans of SCM or frosting just to eat!)

I'm a little messed up.

I'll drink the pickle juice out of the jar until it's gone, but what probably makes me especially weird is that it has to be the sweet pickle juice. I can't stand the kosher dill stuff. Dill pickle juice is becoming a fad at the bars as a chaser.

I'll eat ketchup straight. Sometimes I suck it out of the packet at Mickey Ds or I'll have a burger and fries at home and when they are gone I'll shoot an extra gob of ketchup on the plate and just mop it up with a finger to suck down.

I'll eat garlic powder straight. Shake a tablespoon or two into my palm and press my tongue into it until it's gone. My breath must be wonderful!

See that thing about ketchup above? I'll do that with ranch dressing too after my carrot sticks or hot wings are gone.

Sometimes when I get a sweet tooth I'll just eat a couple spoonfuls of sugar or brown sugar. I'm not huge into candies and cookies, so this is often the only sweets in the house.

I'm sure there's more, I eat like a giant 12 year old, but those are the ones I make sure to do when no ones looking.

I would be quite content to live on what most other people consider condiments, garnishes or toppings: sauerkraut, vegetarian bacon bits, olives, baby corn, capers, pickled mushrooms, anchovies, pickles, pickled anything, pepperoncini, jalapenos, hearts of palm and on and on... And I will drink pickle and olive juice and the water out of a can of tuna. Also, last weekend I invented a wasabi martini. Everyone was disgusted. I found it to be delicious.

try a large spoonful or two dry.

mmm

I kind of wish I had had an intervention.

I used to sneak salt out of the shaker as a kid and steal bouillon cubes from the pantry. I'd never heard of marmite then or I would have eaten it straight out of the jar. I adore all things pickled and brined. Alas, since developing hypertension I can no longer indulge in my halophilic tendencies.

I still have a refrigerator full of condiments though. Just have to eat them with real food now.

When I'm cooking with vinegar, I'll often down a capful of the stuff straight. Especially if it's balsamic.

I'll also chow down on a fresh, whole clove of garlic.

Chocolate chips, from the bag.

Peanut butter, from the jar.

Jalapenos, like grapes.

Where shall I start?
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Avocados
  • Macadamia nut oil and coconut oil by the spoonful.
  • Seaweed
  • Raw lectuce by the head.
  • Fish oil capsules (I bite into them in my mouth)

And crazily enough, I'm not at all overweight

Ooh, I'm going to have to try that. I have some in my cupboard and never knew what to do with them.

When I was a kid we were almost never allowed sweets. Once in a while, when my mother was at work, I would sneak into the kitchen and mix up a bowl of brown sugar, flaked coconut, confectioner's sugar, and chocolate chips. Makes my remaining teeth hurt to think about it .

Mushrooms. Oh, I like them on my steaks and sandwiches and lots of other dishes, but I also sometimes cook them in butter on high until they're nice and crispy, then eat them by themselves. mmmmmm!

Me too on the frosting, at least when I was little. I wonder what it would taste like if you just whipped together raw batter, scm and frosting (and then of course pasteurized it). It would probably taste much better than cake.

I have heard people complain about sugar making their teeth hurt, mine never have [but then I don't do lots of sugary stuff] Why/how does sugar do that?

This reminded me! My mom used to eat sweetened condensed milk out of the can with a spoon (not the whole can at once). She'd also warm it up on the stove with a little lemon juice and make a pudding out of it for herself.

I....uh...have been known to do the same thing at times in my life.

You know that jar of chicken Better than Boullion you have in your fridge? (If you don't, you should.) That you use in teaspoons to pep up broth, sauces, pastas, what-have-you? Yeah, that. I sneak extra teaspoons, just for me. Some for the food, some for the cook.

Yeah, it's pretty salty. I try not do to it....much.

I spoon grated horseradish right out of the jar.

Whatever doesn't kill me, makes me stronger.

I eat pickled jalapeno slices as a snack (but only certain brands that are neither too hot nor too mushy!)
I will definitely eat chocolate chips out of the bag
I also love sugar cubes... I don't keep them on hand but I could easily see myself crunching through a handful

Buy whole mushrooms. Even the white button mushrooms. Remove stems. Heat a little butter in a skillet, put mushrooms caps in skillet, open side up. Sprinkle a LITTLE salt into the caps (save the stems for later), and keep cooking until a liquid forms in each cap. Carefully remove caps from skillet with tongs, being careful not to spill any of that precious, precious juice. Let cool a tiny bit and consume.

I have looked at the new pouches of tuna, and realized that they probably don't have tuna juice in them...so I don't buy the pouches, just the cans. I have four cats. And all of them love tuna juice. They don't want the tuna, just the juice.

I've never tried eating it just plain. However, yes, I do have a jar of BTB chicken and turkey and beef. Because it really IS so much better than the cubes or powdered stuff. Yeah, I make my own stock, too, but BTB is so very, very convenient.

.
The tuna also seems dry and mealy - or it did when they first came out and we got one with a coupon from the manufacturer to give it a try.

I have a love for vanilla frosting that is unequalled by any other food on earth. I will eat vanilla frosting with a spoon. Vanilla frosting left on other people's plates. Or left on the cake box. You leave me alone in a room with a vanilla frosted cake for 10 minutes and that cake will be naked.

I've been known to eat Easy Cheese right out of the aerosol can and into my mouth. No, I'm not proud of it. (To those of you who don't know, Cheez Whiz comes in a jar, not a can)

I like to eat pickles out of the jar sometimes, but I think that's pretty common. Olives too, but also fairly common.

If I'm hard up for some protein I will eat tuna right out of the can too. Also not too bizarre I guess.
