Headin' fer the Nor'east!

My job is going to take me to the Hartford, CT (and Westfield, MA [in w. MA]) area for the next 3-4 weeks, starting Monday, Apr 9.

This puts me in easy driving distance of NY/NJ/PA/MA, for any upcoming Dopefests (hint, hint).

As I have no friends or family (not counting fellow/felowette Dopers) up in that area, I'm totally free on the weekends for any upcoming Dopefests (hint, hint).

Did I mention that I really hate sitting around in a hotel room on a weekend in a part of the country I'm not really familiar with? (hint, hint)

Hm. A distressing lack of response so far. Maybe a more exciting thread title like "NY/NJ/PA/MA/CT Dopefest! Naked chicks!" would have gotten 'em going. Woulda gotten ChiefScott in here at least.

Well, of course I will be there, wherever "there" ends up being, since I'm the one who put ExTank up to it.

If I end up getting a job up there starting, oh, immediately... I'd love to be there for one. (Funny, you talk about these things the night before, wake up and Poof! here it is!) But, of course, it's all going to depend on whether I get moved up there/have an interview up there/whatever.

Well I'm in southern Mass, but don't have a lot of free time, with the exception of early mornings and late nights, like 3 AMish. So I don't think I can make any dopefests or anything.If you wanna come watch me flip burgers though, you're more than welcome....

Yeah, but there's still the little problem of finding a job/having an interview that weekend... whenever that weekend is.

Well, I'm in eastern NY near the Mass/Conn border... if I don't have to work that day, I can be there!

That's a bit more like it. As to "where" and "when", I'm fairly flexible. I have wheels, and weekends off, and my evenings are free for short drives (say an hour to an hour-and-a-half).

Chief: all artillery, either personal or crew served, has been left behind in sunny Dallas. Folks up in the Nor'east have different ideas concerning personal armaments, and as a mere visitor, I feel obliged to conform to local custom.

Central CT puts me within easy driving distance of several major cities from New York to Boston.
