Ever bite into something so good it gives you tingles?

Like this nectarine I just bit into. I did not expect it to be so sweet, juicy, and man is this good. Things like this give me a tingle that goes from the top of my head and down my spine. Just the first bite, usually, and once in a while the second.

Anyone else get the tingles from exceptionally good food? Anything in particular?

Almost anytime I eat an orange. It’s an amazing sensation and it causes the hair on my arms to stand up.

Very often. And not just from “good” foods. When I havn’t eaten in a while, it will happen if I eat almost anything.

Really really really perfect peaches.

I also have a favorite tea concoction I indulge in about once a week. Tingles with the first couple sips. So good!

A good tomato still warm from the sun, gets me every time.

I dunno, maybe it’s just me, but I often get that feeling after I’ve eaten whatever it is. Kind of a powerful glow of satisfaction, “MANNNNNN, that was gooooood!”. I don’t react that strongly to a momentary taste.

Once while high, I sucked on a bottle of squeezable strawberry jam and popped a chub. Does that count?

I once bit into a falling apart chunk of leg of lamb which had a glistening, melting glob of fat on it. I almost fainted, the fat was sooooo good. When I could speak, I said, “I can hear my ancestors singing!”

I’m half Latvian. We’re known for lovin’ us some fat.

I had read about macarons before and seen lots of lovely photos on Pinterest but you can’t really imagine how they taste or feel until there is one in your mouth.

The first time I tried one, I tingled.

Yep. Tomatos or tomato sandwiches. I’ve been eating them for the last three or four weeks, and every single time, it’s pure bliss.

Magness pears
Raritan Rose white peaches. They smell like roses.

There is a chocolate candy bon bon (Mozart?) which has a pistachio center covered in marzipan covered in dark chocolate. The experience of eating one is almost orgasmic.

Yep, nectarines. An outstanding one can give me shivers, they’re so good.

And yep as well on the perfect peaches assertion. Which I’m experiencing every day lately, as we’re in full peach season here south of Silicon Valley.

Perfectly pan-seared foie gras with some kind of fruit compote, covered with truffle shavings. Ecstasy.

Unfortunately I can only afford it about once a decade.

A perfect plate of crispy thick-cut bacon and eggs fried over- medium in the bacon grease gets me every time.

Interesting. If I may ask, what is a tomato sandwich? Is it just sliced tomato on bread? A certain type of tomato? Plain? With condiments? Is the bread toasted? Are the tomatoes heated?

If you are off a certain age [ahem] and you grew up with those aluminum tumblers that came in a set of different colors, every time you touched one to your lips you would get a tingle–I still get shivers whenever I see them.

I used to live near a hole-in-wall Indian delivery that made a chicken mahkni so insanely delicious, it would make my mouth vibrate with happiness. And oh, god, their garlic naan. droooool

In my formulation a proper tomato sandwich is on white bread with a little mayo, and the tomato is so fresh off the vine it’s still warm from the sun. Divine.

I swear this happened to me this morning and I considered posting about it, only in my case it has nothing to do with scrumptiousness. Lately, my breakfast has consisted of a tablespoon of peanut butter and the first mouthful makes my mouth tingle (not in a good way) and my jaws kind of hurt. I wonder if it is anyway related to what you guys are talking about. I mean, I like peanut butter and all but it’s not as if it makes my heart go all aflutter. Hey, that almost rhymes . .
