Wow I can't believe it.

Not since the days of umkay has the SDMB been shaken to its very core by the outing and banning of a beloved member.

I still can't believe that Kate wasn't really interested in getting to know us or possibly even saying "Hello!"

She was so convincing too, from beginning to end.

I know that I am possibly fighting an uphill battle here in the circumstances, but just thought I should mention it here.

I have no criticism of anyone for banning her, I just think that the cricumstances could be relaxed here.

I agree. So she didn't read the user agreement before posting. Who does? Shit, I've been here twelve years and I haven't read it yet, and I am sure many here can say much the same thing.

Oh, I see. You know who else hated spammers? Hitler! Doug Hitler. He modded over at the Brown Shirt Message Board for a while back in '42 and he was always taking down spammers. For Adolph, who hated them just as much as Doug, but was too busy with other things to effectively moderate the forums.

Anyway, I'm Texan. I think that I'm only allowed to put a brisket on a grill, by law. Unless it's a corned beef brisket, then I'm allowed to make a New England Boiled Dinner, as long as I don't refer to it as such.

Never order beef over the internet. Very unreliable. I tried this last year, paid the money in good faith...and then nothing. Sigh. And every time I contacted the company, they kept saying the same thing...

I do not have a gas oven either, or any oven for that matter. How I long to shove some meat into a hot oven until it gets all tender and juicy, but alas, I am oven-less. Sans oven. Once there was an oven, and now there is not! For my room is too small to fit an oven, you see, and the culture here does not really put many buns in the oven, or anything else for that matter, so they don't see a point in them I guess.

In any case, I am very sorry for your lots.

I don't mind em being bossy. I am 100% understanding that I am fighting an uphill battle here, and I am also 100% understanding that it's a bit of a silly battle to be fighting given that "my side" has never been a formal "ally"* and potentially doesn't care. It's almost like I'm Big T, but less sensitive or something.

Oh, and I'm 100% understanding the mod behaviour makes sense. I just think my way of doing things also makes sense and is better by default given the greater freedom.
