Is it OKAY to congratulate a political body here?
The Orleans Parish School Board in Louisiana Just Voted to Ban Creationism (and distorted history) from Their Schools
Nice job folks. I'd call this an anti-pitting or unpitting. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendl...their-schools/ Quote:

I'd call it an MPSIMS thread. [/Moderating] Last edited by Miller; 12-19-2012 at 01:21 PM. |

Damn, that's fantastic. A victory for knowledge and science.

Hardly seems pointless to me. Deep in the South going against the anti-science crowd probably takes a good deal of political courage.
My knowledge of Texas historical revisionism is very vague, but I seem to recall they were characterizing slavery as good for the slaves and were very pro manifest destiny so that shoving natives aside was deemed a good thing. |

Is it OK if we pit the fact that it's actually necessary for there to be a vote against creationism in a science curriculum?

It's good to remember that the world is full of sane people even if you don't hear as much about them as you do about the more newsworthy among us.

"Among us"? Are you "newsworthy"?

Not with regard to teaching religion in science class, I'd like to think, but some of my other views might warrant a headline once in a while.
