No history textbook shall be approved which has been adjusted in accordance with the State of Texas revisionist guidelines nor shall any science textbook be approved which presents creationism or intelligent design as science or scientific theories.

So they avoid teaching religion as science and also avoid teaching history as "revised" by the idiots in Texas.

Hardly seems pointless to me. Deep in the South going against the anti-science crowd probably takes a good deal of political courage.

My knowledge of Texas historical revisionism is very vague, but I seem to recall they were characterizing slavery as good for the slaves and were very pro manifest destiny so that shoving natives aside was deemed a good thing.

Don't forget we Texans know that this country was founded as a Christian Nation and made sure it was put in the History books as such. Just don't bother to read what the Founding Fathers wrote on the subject and what the Constitution says. We are Texas, we a right so there
