Well, we’re starting out with Stupid. The forecast is for more stupid, with self-righteous sauce. Lets make the effort to make this monthly rant thread cheerful and upbeat, so that fewer Dopers have the suicide prevention line on speed dial.

The radio station that I usually listen to at this time of day isn’t coming in on my radio. Bummer.

Being a government employee I still woke up at my normal time even though I’m on furlough. :mad:
The thing that’s really pissing me off though is that some jackass has been trimming my tree, that’s fully in my yard. Not only are they trimming the tree, but they leave the branches in my yard and stuck in the branches. I’ve been here for 8 years now and it happens twice a year at least. I’ve told the HOA and they don’t even say anything. Who the fuck trims someone else’s tree?

No, Hulu, this ad is not relevant to me. For a variety of stupid reasons, the Chase Mobile ad with the baby is not an ad that I want to see. You show me the ad multiple times per TV show, and I click “no” multiple times per TV show, and you keep showing me the ad.
Stop it! When I take the trouble to click “no” on that ad, and only that ad, your model should realize that I don’t want to see that ad anymore, show me something else.

Is that the one where a guy is interacting with a giant baby? That one freaks me out massively.
No, regular sized baby. It’s the one where the mom has to go deposit a check, so she leaves the baby with the uncle, and “leaves” to the hall where she deposits it via iPhone. There’s nothing particularly unpleasant about it, but it has stupidly become one of “those” ads that just don’t sit right with you anymore, and you pointedly notice every time it comes up.
Breaking Bad is over and I don’t even have a meth habit remember it by.
I have an ulcer on the back of my right knee, and it is full of Ouch. I saw a PA at my regular doctor’s clinic, and the clinic is supposed to get in touch with a wound care clinic, but it looks like I’m going to have to get on the phone again and make a fuss.
Also, I’ve become allergic to yet another antibiotic. Fortunately the antibiotic cream isn’t causing complications.
By the way, an old fashioned cloth diaper makes a good warm wet compress, but I hope that you don’t ever need to know that.
Damn it all to heck … in Guild Wars 2 this month’s possible monthly quests suck. I can only find 3 that appeal to me at all, and I need 4. I may have to play world vs world PvP to get number 4 done and I really dislike PvP, I want to spend my time farming tradeskill materials because I need to get weaponmaking up to 500 [currently stranded at 460] to make a spiffy set of weapons for my main.:mad:
Profoundly irritated by this whole gov’t shutdown business. I’m not a federal employee, but all of my clients are federal agencies. Get it together, Congress, and fund the damn laws you already passed. And, while I’m at it, the scramble to implement ACA at the state level has been a pain in my ass, too. All that work had better be good for something.
Congress you piss me off to no ends. It’s not that you are stubbornly debating the budget that bothers me, but closing the government? There ought to be a law that anytime the government closes and employees are not getting paid, Congress does NOT get paid. That’s right, YOU don’t get paid either. You worthless assembly of motherless shit stains. Yeah, I’m pointing at both sides of the friggen isle.
“aisle”, Morgenstern, unless we’re out in the middle of the ocean. I see this mistake almost as often as I see your/you’re, and it’s becoming a peeve if not quite a pet.
I’m peeved at my eyes, too. The lash line is getting itchy, and the eyelids keep trying to gum shut. Yesterday I was wearing contacts and had to go home early because the pain in one eye was bad enough I couldn’t keep it open, plus it kept watering and gumming up more frequently. When I rub the gummy sleep off, it’s all sharp-edged and scrapes my skin.
Today I’m back in glasses, because wearing contacts right now is O.U.T. I’m irrigating with saline, and I even got some funky eyelid wipes (Who knew this was a thing? I had no idea until I saw them this morning at the pharmacy while trying to find the saline solution.) in the hopes that it would help. It’s only been an hour or so since I used it, so it’s too early to tell.
I has the grumps about the whole thing.
(Oh, yeah, Congress? The lot of you need to be taken behind the woodshed. Grow up and stop pitching a tantrum.)

Morgyn, I was having the same symptoms & My eye doc told me I have meibomitis & to wash my eyes with baby shampoo every day, & that has helped a lot!
My Rant: I am sick of politics and the cold sore up my nose. Both are painful.
On the plus side, now with the furlough you might have a chance to catch him in the act.
People need to either research the cause of the gov’t shutdown or just stop posting stupid shit on Facebook. No, the president doesn’t need to be tried for treason for this, jackass. Even my own brother the conspiracy theorist is posting things that will surely get him visited by men in black suits and sunglasses. Again. :smack:
