Medical dopers: pain in my right calf - what's going on? (Need answer fast?)

I woke up this morning with twinge-like pain in my right calf. Its located on the back of my calf, halfway between the ankle and knee, and slightly to the inside. Its not particularly deep but deeper then, say the pain from a skin condition like a pimple. A centimeter maybe. It doesn’t throb, and is quite intermittent. I can feel it most when taking a step, although again it isn’t constant. Its isn’t bad pain, more of annoyance. It is a quick twinge and then gone. No other symptoms. No redness, swelking, etc.

I started school yesterday and was walking around campus a bit, which is somewhat more active than I have been for the past month but I would imagine if it was related to that it would be in both legs?

My BIL was diagnosed with Leukemia last week, and his symptom started with deep leg pain. That’s put me on edge. I’m also concerned about DVT, but this pain isn’t an ache, and isn’t particularly deep- if I had to guess I’d say it’s centered about a centimeter under the skin. It is also staying in one small spot. I’ve taken some Excedrin, for the aspirin.

Any ideas what I should do about this? Should I be woried?

Anyone?

Most likely a slight muscle strain. Ice and aspirin.

Soreness would be both legs and through the entire muscle. Injuries are point specific.

No, you shouldn’t be worried. Take something in the anti-inflammatory family like Advil or Motrin (or generic ibuprofen). You’ll be fine.

Sounds like the beginning of Flesh Eating Disease. Nice knowing you.
