Wild Goose Song

I tried to find the words to the Wild Goose song on the internet, but I keep getting an ancient Irish fisherman
sea chant. I want the one that has the words, “I must go where the wild goose goes, for I must know what the wild goose knows,” so I can find out what the wild goose knows or whatever else is in there. And is it a rock song?

You mean this Frankie Laine ditty from the 1950s?

Try Frankie Lane in the mid to late 1950s. I think he did “Ghost Riders in the Sky,” and at least one other song with a whole bunch of Yahing and Whooping.

GHOST RIDERS was done by VAUGHN MONROE. FRANKIE’S other “ya hoo” song was MULE TRAIN. All were about 1949. RAWHIDE theme came later.

All of which I still know by heart. He’s a Chicago boy. LOL.
