Much thanks to everyone who replied back.* There were a few I didn’t think would, but surprised me and did.
*Or rather, had time to reply back. Out of over 500 of these PMs sent out, I only waited about three hours before showing the results.
Pretty good haul this year. At least I didn’t get any rocks.
Oops, nevermind…
It’s up to you if you want to reveal which one is yours.
I’m sorry if you didn’t get one and feel left out. I pretty much went with who was online at the time, though.
Happy Halloween, everyone.
Disclaimer: This was my own idea, as a poster. It’s not affiliated with the other staff members or SDMB in any way and wasn’t the “planned Halloween event” the staff usually does.
In fact, I even sent the PM to most staff members and a few of the above replies are theirs.
ETA: I still have replies pouring in (which I expected), even though I haven’t sent out any new PMs since I made this topic.
…So I may reply later on (or tomorrow) with an “update” of more replies.

Of course, now that this topic is made, some may see it first and know what their reply will be used for, so it may cause temptation to leave a more “funny” reply than if they hadn’t known anyone would see it…but meh, who cares?
It’s OK. On review of my available household treats, you could have had a Triscuit and three slices of pepperoni, or exactly one Jelly Belly, with luck (for me) the coconut one. (The other 97 Jelly Bellies are Mine! ALL MINE!)
Got your PM, but that is at most the third PM I have ever received (I think it was just the second, but there may have been another back in the dawn of time).
Since it seemed like such a weird thing to receive, from such a weird source (not weird in general, but weird in this circumstance ) my paranoia circuits kicked in and I just deleted it.
I might have had a date to give you. Or a gluten free cookie. We’ve learned over time that no one comes here. Most of the houses on my street are dark, and it’s well outside the city limits. Trick or treaters probably go in town.
Without counting, I’d say my “unique” reply was far from that. I wonder what it says about the majority of us thinking saying “Trick!” was clever. Maybe the anonymity and “security” of saying it online freed us up to say what we’d really like to say to those rugrats at the door! My guess is that there are those of us whose “tricks” might be something to avoid. Thinks like snapped-off car antennas, slashed tires, cut down bushes or trees, soaped (or broken) windows, slaughtered pets, or worse.
Hmmm… Might be worth a new thread to describe the worst “trick” we ever got or gave.
