Would you accept a $250 Mil jackpot if it came with a mandatory sex change?

Just like it says-$250,000,000(after taxes), but it comes with a mandatory sex change operation to change you successfully(well, at least physically) from the sex opposite of the one you now have. By the way, if that isn't enough moolah tell us how much it would take, please.

Would it be fighting the hypothetical to say I would use some of the money to change back if I didn't like it? After all if it can be done once it can be done again.

Also is this sex-change using methods as possible today or hypothetical future technology, because I don't think it would be very effective and I wouldn't do it if I couldn't 'pass'.

The first operation with be perfectly perfect-you've got to rely on whatever you can find if you want to change back...after minimum of 365 days, that is.

Is this magical, painless, complications-free sex change? Do I become a reasonably-attractive 5'7" 120 lb woman, or do I just become a female version of my 6'4" 250 lb ugly self? Because if the latter, then hell no not for any money!

I have a lot of ideas on how to spend the money. My wife would still love me. I'm too old to worry about what other people think. I'd go for it, assuming I could still get some sexual pleasure from fooling around with my wife.

God does not have enough moolah
There is no compensation that you could conceive of that would even be a fraction of enough.

Magically pain and complication free. Pay for your own facelifts.

Boy, what a moral dilemma. For personal gain and enrichment, there's no amount that I could accept for this -- I don't believe I could be happy after such surgery. But when I consider how much good I could do with, say, $100 billion, then it seems awfully selfish to say "no". But I'd probably jump off a bridge shortly after I distributed that money.

was that "off and on", "in and out", or a combination of the two?

Sure, why not? I'd prefer this to be in the magical future, where we can Star Trek such improvements into place, though. I don't think flooding the body with hormones (ones that relate to your current gender or the opposite) is a good idea.

As already stated, the op will be magically clear of complications and will be 100% successful.

So if I understand you correctly the first sex-change is basically magical (ie I would be fully functional, I want to have children, and it wouldn't raise any eyebrows as to how I would look) but if I wanted to change back I would have to use current methods?

Hhhhhhmmmm while I'm generally (almost wrote genderally there) happy as I am I've always been interested in the concept of physical transformation and especially changing sex as part of that, but it being effectively permenant would mean I would really have to consider it.

I think it depends on if my curiosity wins out or not and I would probably be willing to do it for a lot less than $250'000'000 in that case.

So definitely maybe.

I don't think I could do it, but that's a lot of clams. And if $250,000,000 isn't enough, then no amount would be enough.

Absolutely. I enjoy being a girl, but I've often thought that it would be cool to try being a boy for a while. For that much money, it would be an easy decision.

As a man, I could command a higher salary. On the other hand, I'd quit working if I had $250 Million.

Interesting question.

Also, I'd like to see this broken down by gender: how many men would switch vs how many women would switch.

I'd do it for a lot less, especially since it wouldn't adversely affect my marriage. Would I be able to have a baby?

I agree, but as per the OP the change is effectively permenant.

Edited: I'd better clarify, I have nothing but understanding and respect for people who change sex today, but the process is very far from easy and perfect.

You said "well, at least physically."

I assume that means I won't be immune to the horrific ravages of gender dysphoria.

I'd rather not risk becoming suicidal any time soon. No thanks. What good are vast riches if I'm unable to enjoy them?

Nope.

1) I'm happy with my gender
2) I don't need US$250M

Would I *like* US$250M..? Uhh.. Maybe not. Probably not, depending on how you offer it. That kind of money changes your life situation dramatically, and I frankly don't have that much need. US$2.5M? Sure. I'll take that. US$25M..? Hmmm. Could we make that $10M, instead?

Okay, well, your facelift comment made me think it would just be a plumbing change without taking the other issues into account. For that amount of money, I repeat, why wouldn't I do it, in that case?

You would get the proper treatments that come before and after the surgery...but I won't make you taller, shorter or anything of that nature.

Hell yes. Swapping out my genitalia doesn't mean I have to change my identity. I can still dress the same and continue calling myself by the same name/pronouns while having a penis. And presumably my hormones would be as they are now. Sign me up.

Gender reassignment normally comes with hormone therapy as well. You might not find it as comfortable as you think.

Yeah, I'm happy being a dude, but not super-attached to it. You could buy me off for a lot less; anything that would lead to my having no money worries the rest of my life would work.

Naw. People are dying because they can't be the gender they don't want to be. I couldn't trivialize it with a payout like this. Even if I donated it all to their cause.

With that sum of money, I could live exceptionally comfortably, and still have enough money to support charities that are important to me.

I'm a straight man, and while I've never really had any consideration that I might *want* to be a woman, I freely admit that I've always been curious.

Given the specifics of the hypothetical: sure, I'd do it.
