i work in a doctors office. part of my job is to get the lab reports to the docs and patients in a timely manner. (i really do get the reports to the patient within 1 day of recieving them)
anyway, one of the abbrivations is us, for ultasound.
does this sound like the name of a major corparation to anyone else?

us scrotal

i looked at that, and about laughed myself silly. i can just hear the operator answering the phone. "us scrotal, how may i help you?"
apparently, i was the only one who found this even faintly amusing. my supervisor suggested i go ahead and go on home, that i had seen too many lab reports.

i told you it was pointless

That was hilarious.

Not a thing wrong with laughing at that.

Unfortunately, a lot of folks don't seem to have much of a sense of humor; and from my very personal experience, doctors and MAs top the list. I guess their take on it is that Medicine is Very Serious Business, which it certainly is, but ya gotta lighten up once in awhile, huh?

I suppose in the future, now that you know your coworkers Don't Get Silly, I'd refrain from being too weird or silly in front of them. Again, from my personal experience, seeming "too silly" in a professional setting can make it tough on you down the road, if you're looking for a career at the place in question. If you're not, enjoy yourself openly! What th' hell!

US Scrotal, indeed. I would have laughed my ass off, and hope that I didn't get, er, sacked!
